Honestly, expecting anything before about May 30th 2005 is probably fruitless. Sorry to say that, though.

Cafa, yes I would expect their development efforts will mostly be focused on CURB and the expansion now.

So yes there is yet another reason for them to ignore us for another 3-4 months. I'm sure in June they'll have another reason.

some of us already crafted ==thousands== of harvesters, houses, halls, etc... nothing personal to any of you but, do you think a stupid furniture colourization will make us happy?

Of course they will. The next expansion. That's why we don't listen to them when they put us off; we KNOW that we're being lied to. The sad part is SOE really truly believes themselves when they say "really, justafter we do this!" And they think we're being unreasonable when we throw it back in their faces, after all they honestly mean it....and then the Next Big Thing comes along and bug fixes or non-critical issues get pushed back again, but they'll fix us "just as soon as we finish this, really!"

The bottom line is, you have to make bug and class fixes THE priority, or they will always be put off in favor of the Next Big Thing. You must be willing to make the decision: "screw the Project, we need to fix the Game!" An example of a company doing it right is Cryptic Studios. City of Heroes is solid a a rock. That thing just does not crash, it isn't full of bugs, you're not constantly rubberbanding, CTD, putting up with tedious idiocy like restocking vendors item-by-item, etc. etc.

Granted, the release of Ep. III is a bit of a hard deadline, which means trying to do the CU is the project that should be put on the back burner until fixes are in.

Very interesting point. For those individuals who yearn for architect to contribute more directly in the Galactic Civil War, I'd say no. For those who like to decorate, I'd say yes.

I guess that is an interesting point... are they ever gonna fix the stuff we need fixing? Just say "yes, we are/will work on this (and here is about when). Architects are a priority of our staff and you will not be hung out to dry."

i would even respect a "No! Go to hell, we don't care about crafters. if you aren't fighting you are pansys. We will phase out all crafting as of next patch. Thank you come again!"

Something, anything.

And of those thousands how many were mineral harvs? Did you ever once say "darn this would be easier if they came out in factory crates!". Of those thousands did you make any fusion or solar harvs? Did you ever think "ya know with some experimentation I could make some really nice stuff here".

If you are happy, great, be happy. Some of us aspire to higher callings tho. And mostly its not even abuot these things. I could live with them never being put into place if I KNEW they were never being put into place. The constant hope that they will however is driving most of us batty for multiple months now.

And BTW I pride myself on doing interior decorating. So yes, to me furniture colorization is HUGE. Houses and harvs are only 2/3s of our profession. Technically even higher, take a look some time and add up the furniture schematics vs the houses/harv schematics. See which one wins. Just becuase you only work houses and harvs does not meanthat every one works that way.Try and keep an open mind, eh?

I realize as one of the more youthful members of the the game andinfamously shunned architects... I purpose this question to D and the rest of you that have been around a while... Do the devs even pop into the prof forums to say directly to them here is an issue of yours that we are working on cause we "care"? Granted they have a whole section to them in the boards, but as was mentioned before communication is key. I don't nock the devs at the fact that they are very busy people day in and day out when the are able to go from here's our idea on this from the players to a "fix" yin x amount of time. All coding is intensive and can be frustrating at times (repeating myself from another thread in this area) I know I've done it. I don't expect them to drop everything to save us, but that proverbial bone is always nice once in a while...

D your doing a great job from what I can tell and while the posts that I've read seem to have more of Ethan that of you, your our rep and there's only so much you can do before they either say fine we'll fix you now or you will have to wait in line. As the saying goes "Everything comes to he who waits." I can wait a bit longer, and for those who are getting antsy and don't like to wait... I don't know honestly patience is not just a virtue, its something that can be as thin a paper or as thick as a vault door, but no matter where you stand patience. I wouldn't mind bashing a few heads if I could, but all that does is make them pissed off so they ignore you even longer.

I would like to see some new toys added to the permanent list of schems an architect can make, I do want to see better items being made, and I do want my toon to be one of the best in the biz, but till I'm told otherwise I'm just gonna muddle through like I have in the past.

Just a suggestion but if you get a chance try and grease the dev wheels a little bit with sugar coated snacks thatalmost always goes over with any coder.

We are a unique community that may not be of any use but till we are told that we are useless and we should quit, I say we find a way to light afire up under the devs to play ball with us.

Yes oldman, furniture is a chunk of our business but all aspects need love. Lets face it, we're not architects in the true sense of the word. We're structure assemblers and furniture builders, wheres the ability to design new structures? As an architect i should be able to make a basic house and modify it to have diffirent architecture. How bout Naboo style columns? maybe a Tatooine great hall, or a Dathomirian motif in the house.

Rather than just add new predesigned schematics, how bout changing the whole way houses are done. Start with a basic structure then let the architect add on or modify the blueprint to be truely unique. Allow furniture and accessories to be part of the design.

And how bout bathrooms? i've been holding it in for almost 2 years and its really starting to hurt.

Homes shouldn't just be a place to store our stuff, people should want to spend time there.

Harvestors - they need some sort of decay or something to encourage new purchases/repairs to give repeat business.

Oh, and just an FYI. I have seen publicly that the DEVs have said they will not respond to threads addressed to them. That is because if they did respond to such threads then there would be a zillion threads addressed to them. /shrug But anyway, I'm not expecting a DEV to respond to this thread. I post it as a way to draw attention to our issues. They do supposedly read the forums at least.

the only annoying thingabout Omu non-crated, is that you can't do long mineral runs as ingredient hopper get full. I'd prefer to keep it this way if we get more interesting things.. like house customization (yes, the window choosing place, or the rooms allocation/size, etc.), or base construction, etc, i have a necro post 6 months ago where i propose some new stuff despite i knew devs didn't attend it.

Agreed, would be a good way to surrender once for all architect.

Architects as interior decorators... i remember last time i make a furniture piece, it's around one year ago. Maybe you can get fun with it, i don't doubt it as some customers (or you) are really fancy at creating cute spaces, however, color customization as Omu in crates are simply small things, they bring almost no more content to the game, and THIS is what we need, YOU included. Not always new content should mean a lot of new money. I still remember someone's proposal was the 'terrain leveler', or the well-known faction base builder, or the highway builder, etc. this would be more content as it be new and fresh.
