hehe,

Tell you what run to the kitchen and grab yourself a can of Tys@n Tuna chunks and a fork and read carefully what I am about to say, Since this is the Trade secret.

I do not run missions everyday and lots and lots of them to accomplish paying for my resources or my harvesters. I make plenty of money of my houses and furniture and just can't seem to keep that stuff in stock. So all in all I break above even in that category usually have some extra money at the end of the day to buy the wife a drink and a nice outfit. And since I don't need to buy uber weapons and killer super cool armor I don't waste money on that stuff. The only time I run missions is if I dont' have enuff money to pay for my Training. Yes Sometimes it happed I level to fast to pay for my training. but all in all I sit above even everyday that game goes by. Now I may not be the richest arch out here. When I hit master I will guarantee I will be **edit** near. WHY? cause people are buying my stuff now for agood price and I need to put almost all my money back into my harvesters and skill but after master there are no more skills to pay for and all it will be is buisness deals every day. AND lots of MONEY. Even though I will still undersell you. The only overhead will be the cost of a few miners. WoW considering large house will sell for 100k or so and 40k in resources is a gues mind you I Can't build them yet. but never the less I will be making money and having fun and you will be here on the board crabbing cause Some of us undersell.

Done with your tuna yet?

Have a great day :-)

Part of the problem I see is the architects are not basing thier prices on the current market ... they are basing thier prices on bazaar prices before the harvestor fixes/nerf.

When core resource prices change everything that uses those resources is supposed to change with it. There no market analysis in swg to enact these changes.

SWG wants a player controlled free market economy.... you can't have that without analysts helping to keep the market balanced. This is especially apparent in oil.

You cannot have a market without fluctuation.

In swg the resources are fluctuating as they should but the finished items market is not.

Average resource price in the bazaar as of 1145pm cdt on tuesday july 15th 2003. On Corbantis

1 Unit = 10 Credits

Of course this is the average ... some are less and some are more.... I am currently however unable to find any resource for less than 5 credits per unit.

This is a big change from from a couple of weeks ago when prices were more like 3 credits per unit.

So how do we fix this?

consumers and sellers need to be informed.

How do you inform the consumers?

The Holonet. Devs please put in a holonet that works from our datapad. Have it list going rates of all basic compoments and allow players the ability to calculate finished item costs using those rates. Information is the key.

of course this is just a rough idea and needs soem work to be functional but its a start

Oh my You are one high strun person WOW!! Sit back relax and calm down ok ? It will be all right. Time to Analyze :-)

Analyzing.........

>>Right now I have borrowed enough lots from people to be running 100 harvestors. That >>comes to 144,000 credits per day in maintence costs. every 5 days or so I have to move >>them at 3k per harvestor that is 300,000 this comes to a total of 1,020,000 credits every >>5 days to stay in operation. I am able to produce about 2 PA deeds a day and the extra >>resources go to upgrades in infrastructure.

.................Done Analyzing

Determined that you have way to mnay harvestors and spend way to much time running from one to another. and spend way to much money. SAVE SOME CREDS for fun K.....

Analyzing.........

>>Yes, I charge 500k for a PA hall 550k if you want a genaric deed (require more >>resources). I am able to deliver next day delivery on every deed I make. Most times >>within 6 hours I can produce a deed out of the factory.

......... Done analyzing

Determined that you use a factory to much BORING!!! Much Quicker by hand I am sure. but on the bright side you get time to run to your harvestors?? right or do you hire out, cause I will actually do that for the right price, cause I think be fun to make money off you to maintaine your harvestors for you. In fact I think that could easily be a proffesion they coudl put in a maintanance man for you? I liek it I am putting that in a requst to those guy running the show here.

Analyzing.........

>>I charge 150k per Large house

>>Medium houses I can't make a profit on and don't build them unless it is a personal >>friend.

>>small houses I can't make a profit on them and wont build them.

>>Harvestors I only sell to medics or other people I know are not the competition.

>>Factories this is our one item people need us for and should have went for 150k. We have >>armorsmiths and droid engineers and weapon smiths that make millions of credits without >>the overhead and we basically gave them a deed at 40-50k

....... Done analyzing

Determined That you spend to much time looking at the big money and making no money for yourself. How do you mean can't make a profit on some of those items? Do you want to charge 20k for small and 80k for mediums like other architects (not me of course I got best prices around) With those prices of course you can't make a profit they sit ona self get dusty and stuff. Factories well you screwed yourself there you sold to competition hehe bad idea. Yes even other crafters are competition in our line of buisness. The More stuff they make and can sell the less money people have to buy from us!! Sheesh something all us archs should think about.

Analyzing.........

>>I am still having a hard time makeing a profit at this point. between problems with >>bottom feeders and the like I dont know what to do. At some point I may have to shut >>downt he operation and do things on a smaller scale. Some of the current prices floating >>around are so low I can not afford to build that particular deed.

>>I try to explain to people that before the resources were free because people didn't have >>to maintain their harvestors and they would produce minerals. But now prices should be >>going up again and they are not.

>>People tell me I am trying to cheat them and that I am making money hand over fist, But I >>would like them to try to maintain a buisness and not the occasional building of an item.

>>If I am forced out of the market by bottom feeders I will take them with me and use the >>last 3 days of harvestor money to pump out 4,000 small house deeds and price them in the >>gutter and every day put a few in the bazaar terminal and take them down with me.

......... Done Analyzing

Final Summary......

Well I do think it is great you work so hard at building a buisness or should I say empire and controlling the whole Galaxy for yourself and by making it hard for anyone else to compete. That is competition. Buut I must say the only people you will ever make happy are going to be the PA'S and your friends. The rest well (I hate to tell you) won't even bother with you cause you will be on your way to a harvester when they walk in and need a medium or small house cause they can't afford more you won't be there to give them one well next option will be bottom feeders like ME!! yeap I said it my whole goal in life is to make sure everyone and I mean everyone gets a house not just the wealthy mind you. Because if I have to I will give every person who bought a small house when I was working hard to gain skill a BIG HOUSE for free just cause they helped me when I was a young arch. And you will be like "darn bottom feeder I will take you down". but never the less you won't be able to cause you just got greedy and didnt' sell to the poor folk and I did. So what you need to do is quit trying to explain to everyone you won't be able to live cause bottom feeders(my favorite thing you said) will undersell you and make you not break a profit. Well I think it is time for you to take a vacation to like Endor and play with ewoks or something. I don't know about you.

I do like you though you got a killer attitude and are aggresive for the you get a GO MAN GO !! yeeeee haaawwwwww...

Remember the little guy is the one who will need stuff in the future. Here today gone tommorow you are my Fellow arch.

Player Run Economy = Competition.

Of yes this is important. I have to put this in cause if it isn't then player run economy means jack. So how do I out sell the competition? Easy low prices. You may say low pirces mean I run outta stock quicker. True I do but almost everyone is willing to wait for a big deal difference :-) Most anyone who need to sell a small hosue for anythign between 10k and 20k is well in my opinion a semi gredy person.

To end this I jut want to say I love comeptition and I hope you all make a great lvigin in architecture cause I know I am. I didn't want o hurt anyone feelings or make them feel I was pointing fingers but you greedy folks know who you are.

Havea nice day and may the Prices of ore be with you.

Actually just because a resource sells for a certain price on the bazaar does not mean that resource is worth said amount. It means that a person wants a certain amount for the resources and if your willing to pay for it then goody! If he makes a profit selling **edit** at the amount he sells it for and he is selling alot then he is like wal-mart and others gouging and trying to make the larges credit amount profit per sale are like macy's or some other big store that cant seem to stay in business cuz everyone wants to pay less baby!

My opinion of the bazaar credit-for-resource rate is this: You access those materials when you need a rush job. You pay thr 6-10c per unit price only in desperate times. I honestly don't know who buys large quantities from the bazaar.

I do however email the people selling in the bazaar and make offers for bulk rates and thus the bazaar is a good networking tool. I don't pull my hair out wondering why we can't make a 6-10 credit profit on finished goods however. It's just not a valid representation of the market.

I would be happy to maintain a constant 5c on sales! As it is competition from new Architects will keep it around 4c a unit for finished goods.

The system is upside down because it's a MMRPG. Very few people are willing to grip the market concept. As people skill-up they dump the low end production on the market just to skill up.

The only fix I see is a year away when we very slowly and painfully wait for the admins and developers to adjust the system. Then again I dont know if we will see this game a year from now. Please forgive me for referring to this game but in Ever Quest terms you can get to 60's level in a month in this game.

On Lowca a lot of the architects sell at 4c per resource, with complex items going for 6c per resource:

  • Small House 14k

  • Medium House 80k

  • Large House 150k

  • PA Hall 300k +

I am so swamped in orders currently that I cant keep up. I have 5 PA Halls waiting to be built plus 7 mediums 3 large and a possibleorder for 20 Heavy harvesters. I know other architects sell for lower than me and some for higher. I dont really care about the ones selling lower because they are screwing themsleves out of business. Also atthese pricesit allows you to buy resources for as much as 2c per resource and risk a crit fail and still break even.

In the long run a lot of architects will drop off or move to easier professions where they dont have to run an army of harvesters and factories to meet orders and where you can sell your items for far more than 4c per resource. For now you shold just ignore the bottom feeders who want to pay 30k for a medium house and stick to your guns.

Padashar, if you could please tell me the easiest way for me to start out as a novice architect!! I've never been one nor have I had much experience talking to one, but IMO I was thinking maybe I should start with furnishings. I mean when someone gets a house they're going to think "time to give it a make-over" so...Anyone have any ideas?

My 2 cents to this rant, WE ARE ARCHITECTS! A call to arms! Stick to your prices, and if your really annoyedby a weapon smith or armorer making 10 times what you do then drop your heavy harvesters on the good steal, become a weapon smith too and sell 100s of guns out of your factory for 3cr/resource.

You have enough skill points to be a master architect and a master anything else so start making armor, weapons and droids. Then you control the majority of the resources. Set the market rate on 2 lines of products, and reap the rewards.

Three months from now, your personal vendor will have 2 of each type of deed on it, you'll be down to 1 heavy harvester per resource you use alot of, 1 structure factory, and a fusion power plant. Your neibor two doors down will have the same and so will his neibor. So get into a trade besides architect that will have more turnover, and use the fact that only you can make heavy equipment to your favor.

Dont sell people heavy anythings. Keep them within the trade as an advantage over the rest of the market.

Happy Hunting to you all, and may you always arive before the Maint is due
