Thread: Carbonate Ore
Actually I'm not basing it on that
I've been told that it sells at 10cr p/u and I said no way.
So instead of arguing I decided to be productive and see what the galaxies held for resources. I think I'm going to stick to 4cr p/u after some of the input. 2's too low 5's too high
so 4 sounds good
Ah, I just noticed.. the OP is a weaponsmith. That explains the question and the rather offensive "What? Should be 5 to 6 c/u!" comment.
Dont remember saying that offensive natured stuff
I don't pay more than 3 ever. Well once I did, but I was in a hurry.
If you want more than 3 cr/unit, sell your crap to weaponsmiths and armorsmiths, they can afford it.
I'm with the minority that won't pay for it. Not for any price I've ever seen advertised and certainly not for 4, 3 or even 2.5 credits per unit. Usingpower from a fusion generator sitting on a 65% concentration, and putting a harvester on a 70% ore spot (not unusual despite claims to the contrary), your actual cost to mine 1 unit of ore is about .4 credits. Selling the ore at 2.5 - 4 credits per unit is a markup of around 625% - 1000%. No way.
I am constantly astounded that people are willing to pay so much for ore, but what the heck, maybe I'll start selling mine too instead of making structures with it.

Please do!
Help lower the market costs...on Tatooine I'm in dire need of Carbonate, I won't let myself pay over 4 per for it though, but would snatch it up if under 4. Best deposit I could find after more than an hour of searching was 48% so I'm desperate...though the shift is coming soon so I'm hoping luck will be on my side this next run through.

When I pay for it, I typically pay 2.5-3cr per unit. I will not pay more than that. Otherwise I harvest it myself.

Well I must say it is nice to see a thread here discussing prices that doesnt have me up in arms.
I sell everyday on the bazzar 1k stacks for 2k - so do take a look now and again.
Not that I have any problems with it staying up for much more than an hour.
Just wish I could sell enough to influence the general prices.
Not yet, but maybe soon I will be able to - my output issteadily rising.
I pay 2-3 cr per unit, just like just about every other architect that needs 2-3 times what he/she can mine in a day. I have been harvesting about 40k per day at a 50% source, and buy 20-40k per day at 2-3 cr per unit.
I you can stick to mining, great, but I can still make about a 1-2 cr per unit profit when I buy, and if my choice is to make a 2.5 cr/unit profit and be 2 weeks behind, or a 1-2 cr/unit profit and be caught up and doing twice the volume, the choice is clear to me. Last night I spent 400k on resources ranging from 2-4 cr per so I can get caught up. about half of this was on ore, the rest on metals. I started with 20k ore, and about 7k metals, and ended with 50k ore and about 25k metals, and sold about 400k worth of structures. So my profit in dollars was non-existent, but I came out ahead, and tonight I will have close to 100k ore to play with.. I may even get caught up.. 2 larges, 4 mediums, 2 fusions, and some furniture to do tonight.. hmm.. I hope so..

Givin the fact that Ore doesnt come in higher concentrations then somewhere in the 60s and is in big demand where do you pull these 2 p/u and 3 p/u prices from? As far as I know the going archie rate is about 5.3-5.6 p/u. At 2 and 3 cr p/u that is a killer profit.
I have my harvesters on a 74% spot of Carbonate ore right now
