Thread: The Uber Architect only Extracter
To justify such a harvester, it would need to be a non-transferable structure, with double the heavy's power consumption, and maybe 1.5x maintenance.
But in addition to that, you would also need to be "certified" to place it, along with it only being able to harvest Low Grade Ore.
Then it might be a possibility.
And as far as taking away from the newbie architects? I kinda think the small house market is theirs... With the way they undercut just to pay the bills, it's usually an area we master architects rarely touch anymore... unless someone is willing to pay a decent price of course.

wouldn't work because each type of mineral has a specific serial number and name with stats.... the stats cant be changed... You would have to be pulling in a different type with half the quality.
I think it would just be better if there were heavy heavy harvesters that only master Architects, Weapon/armor smiths, droid engineer, tailor, and chefs could use. It would add something more to being a master.
If Architects get this 'Uber Harv', I will QUIT playing.
I am a Master Artisn/Merchant/Chemist - I RELY on the income I get from selling ore to architects to pay for my hobby professions. I rent lots from others and spend the tedious time to maintain a decentset ofmed/heavy farms to supply three Master Architects with the extra ore and metals they need.
I enjoy the discounts I get in return for my low ore prices, and have an enjoyable playing life.
I do not think your game play should become self-reliant, andI end up with no purpose.
I actually think they should add a new profession...miner...stemming off of the surveyor tree...give them the uber harvester.
That miner idea sounds really good. Some ppl have already started this. Ive actually even seen some architects operate up to 20 heavy harvesters all on one ore spot to pull in about 110k ore every day. Thats geniousy if you ask me. I guess guildies do come in handy afterall.

tiberian_death -how does 200+ heavy harvesters with 1 crit fail on final combine sound? Yes, that's the estimated number of heavies I have sold since I hit master. I sell 30-40 per resource shift.
Guess what. I pay absolutely no attention to material stats.
I also am against removing crit fails from the game. I do want us to have +100 assembly at master(and experimentation if they ever get around to giving us something to experiment on), but other than that crit fails are fine as they are. They drive the lowballers and dilettantes out of the profession.
I don't recall ever seeing Drueric whine about crit fails either.
Tiberian.... I've never looked at stats on resources, I take whatever's highest... i have a low rated crafting station. I haven't built quite as many items as you in the last 3 weeks, but believe me, i've built more than my fair share...... No criticals on a final assembly yet and I can count on both hands the number of crits I've had on subcomponents in the arch line (struct modules and wall modules in particular).
so, with that said, whats your explanation?
Oh, and just so you know, i had some leftover resources from the last 2 shifts so I went back and looked... current ore is 535 UT, last one was 427 and the one before that was 610. the last 75k in steel i've used is rated at 630 UT.
quality of resources makes no difference. When are you ppl gonna get that thru your thick heads.

So me using resources with over 800 in unit toughness has nothing to do with me not having a criticals on a final combination for about three weeks now. Even though I've made over 10 PAs, over 10 heavies, and numerious houses and smaller projects such as med harvestors and factories during these past three weeks but yet you all cry all the time about how you critical all the time and how the critical on final combinations should be nerfed. Go ahead continue using crappy resources and cry to the devs about how your are going to leave the profession if critical on final combinations isn't removed and let the devs laugh at you as they don't change anything about because its your own fault for having all the criticals.
If you have this much demand BUY RESOURCES!

How exactally would this be used for grinding if it's a top tier (master) item?
It would be used to help MASTER architects acquire more resources so they can fill the need's of the customers.
Without 2-3 friends each lending you thier 10 lots, you can't keep up with 30k resources per item made alone.
With these types of harvesters you could.
