The real key is the rubber chicken.

When I craft, I wave a rubber chicken over the crafting station.

Yeah, I still crit fail sometimes, but it doesn't bother me as much now cause I got this here rubber chicken, see?

Use a Rubber Ducky, less crits.

This does not work on PA halls for some reason.....

hmm i find that i only crit big things when im in my PA hall.. i NEVER crit large items when im in my small storage house... Perhaps crit is based on what size house you try to craft in? *grins*

(yes when im done with all my componjents i do rush over to my small to do the final combine now lol)

Use a crafting macro
Use a 35.12 crafting station (not 35.13 or 35.11) put the station on a south wall facing south.
Craft on "even minutes" at night only (dont craft on odd minutes durring daylight hours).

Crafting
Face north
Activate mask scent (/mask)
Arm yourself with a scout pistol
Select yourself (ctrl 1) and type /smell
Type /twitch 3 times
Select the crafting station and type /kiss
Use a crafting macro to craft the item

You will never crit fail again!
