Thread: What the FLAMING FUDGE is WRONG with people?(Rant about Valcyn's Pricing going sour in a week)

You should buy up all his medium chem/gas at that price and resell them. Buy them all so it uses all his daily resources, you can easily get more for them and it will save you time while stressing him out
agreed, i know i can sell at those prices and still make a profit after costs of harvetors, and have sold that low b4
but i dont go around spamming it in the market place ( i did make a post about it on the bloodfin board, that i regret) if he wants to sell at that price all power to him, but definatly buy his product then resell if even add him as on your friend list. I have a few poeple that i will sell cheap to and they resell, i make a small profit and they keep the value up.
add to friend list when he comes online tell him you want 2 factories or medium houses even if he is running 30 harvestors that is all his resources right there.

As I said, all he has to do is sell 1, and it doesn't matter if he personally stays in business. Word will get around that "The going rate for factories is 30k" and it'll ruin everything for us.
Sorry, but this is completely incorrect. One person advertising a low price doesn't suddenly make that the going rate. If he sells 3 or 4 factories at this price then quits, word might get around to 10 or 40 more people. Then when they tell you "hey factories are only 30k" you say "oh yeah, well go ahead and buy one for that price then."
They'll run around for a day trying to find one at that price, but they won't find one because the guy is out of business or raised his prices. Then they'll come back to you and pay 50K or they'll go to someone else who will charge them 50k.
The exact numbers aren't what's important in my example. The only way the price goes down permanently is if lots of people sell at that rate. One person can't "destroy" the market with one low price, unless they somehow can actually supply all the demand, which if you are correct, they can't.
Keep in mind most architects make extra things they dont need just to advance thier skills. They sell this stuff at little profit or even a loss (aka the 7 to 9k small naboo house). People just want / need some quick cash to pay harvester bills, so they can race up a couple of more skill levels.
Thus the housing / structuremarket is bad atm.
Prices should stabilize once the flood of new architects skills start to top off.
I started a spreadsheet based upon Archtitect schematics. I wanted to use this spreadsheet to give me a handle on pricing. My initial take is to price as follows:
3 cr / unit of Aluminum, Chemicals, Copper, Metal, Non Ferrous Metal, Steel, Wood
4 cr / unit of A Gem, Carbonic Ore, Low Grade Ore, inert gas
5 cr / unit of Reactive Gas
6 cr / unit of hides
------
A small house, using this system, comes to 12,624 credits. (Sadly, since I had priced a small house early at 9,000 credits I cannot raise this price. It was enough to cover my harvester costs until resources started moving.)
Mineral Mining Installation (Level 2) 12,241 -- sell for 13k
Solar Power 14,840 -- sell for 15k
Factory 49,300 -- sell for 50k
Medium House 76,100 -- I have not as of yet tried to sell one.
-----
I know that I will not become fabulously rich off this pricing, but I make ends meet. I cycle through good days and bad, but it does seem the bad days are becoming more numerous as people are underselling these prices.
I agree that Architect prices are far too low. It is caused by the customers not being able to pay realistic prices (25k for a small house hurts) and by too many architects. I cannot count the number of Architect mules I have met all having a group of people feeding them resources to skill up on so they can do the combine on their guild hall rather than buying one. Also, buildings never decay. So someday, sometime there will be no one to buy houses, harvesters or factories. Everyone is clambering to get their experience and get a few credits on the side even if it is a loss.
Personally, I love building things. I love waking into player cities and saying "I built everything you see here". Yes, I can barely afford to keep my harvesters going but a year from now people are going to say "You know, this is one of the first PA Halls, it was built by Xolanne."
In the end all of these mules throwing houses in bazaar terms for 3k just begging for usage xp are just going to kill themselves.
Sick of grinding xp to be a master architect while all your friends are having a blast on missions and guild events but still need a PA hall? Send Xolanne an email and we'll work out a solution.

All is not lost i sold 3 small houses at my min price i will go for 15k each to the same person...He was happy have them..
Dont cave in i had given someone a price on a house that was 20k more than someone else told him.. I got a call back 3 days later from same guy willing to pay now cause the cheap guy had locked up his resources for a week selling at that price...
I sell just enough to use all my resources and i sell at my price..Point is if i take a week to sell 5 PA halls at 350k and thats all i can do..The next guy with same resources has 10 orders for then at 200k each its still gonna take hum 2 weeks to do it..In that 2 weeks i sold 10 too and got 1.5 mill more and most times my wait is one day to get it..
Just finished my 5th PA build and im half asleep so if this message is a bit broken im sorry but thats just my thoughts..

I hope these people know you don't get usage XP for structures (except factories that make stuff, heh).
Small house 15k
Medium House 65k
Large House 140k
Equipment Factory 50k
Any other Factory 60k
Personal Harvesters 1500
Medium Harvesters (includes solar) 40k
Large Harvesters 90k (includes Fusion)
Furniture: 4 credits per resource
Crafting Stations 3k
Soon:
PA Halls 450k
Oh I know: "You're so expensive!" "I can get a small for 10k" "I can get a solar for 30k" "I can get a factory for 40k" et al.
LOL go ahead. You come and ask I go: "one minute" *shuffles items in pack hits create* "XXk please, thanks have fun"
Other guys/gals : "Yeah it's XXk no I can't build it now" "Do you have resources" et al.
I get a kick out of the fan base I've built because I have what people want *in-stock* and nearly ready (ten minute wait at most) because if I advertise it, it's almost ready to go. Now if they'd only fix the vendors, so I can actually load the things I create to sell!
Stick to your guns. I sold a small for 20k to a man that owned a medium that he bought for...get this, 20k.
I told him whoever sold him that first house was completely insane and is probably out of business but to go try him again. A day later he came to me and bought that house.
Also be active in your Galaxy web area, remind the builders and customers there what we talk about over here.
Actually, that's incorrect. I've been getting usage XP for something, and haven't made any factories yet. In fact, I'm working on my first one now.
As for this lowering prices, it hasn't yet. 8 days later, I'm still getting people asking me for houses at 15k.

Well that's nice and specific
I've read reliable sources saying you don't get XP for structure use, and I haven't noticed getting any from harvesters I sell, but I haven't watched it that closely.
Did you grind out powerups or something else and sell or give them away? Maybe the xp is coming from there. I guess we'd have to try it in controlled circumstances to see for sure. We should get it, but I can't say for sure I guess.
