Thread: The Fusion Problem
Not true Hotdog.
There has been no radioactive on Tatooine Bloodfin for 2 resource cycles now.
Has anyone been following the efficiency thing regarding nuclear power? I read a few posts on TC where miners were wondering when the efficiency of nuke power will actually make it last longer (or something) than the other energy resources. Vass said this was going into the next big patch, but the threads I read didn't really explain what it all meant. Has anyone been following this that could explain or refer me to a more descriptive thread?
Last time radioactives shifted on Tatooine (Corbantis) it was only gone for 2 days. Now we had a new radioactive shift in two days ago while the previous one hasn't shifted out yet (so two different types right now). However, I have in the past seen an entire week go by with no radioactives on Tatooine before too, so long droughts are possible.

Had the same thing happen on Radiant, Tattoine, a while back, not long after making my first fusions. They were down for just 2 days before the planet's source went 'poof'. Whacked down some solars and lifted the fusions, only to find a new radioactive appear after a two-day drought. It's Type 1 rad and has been there for a week now.
In relation to post above, I'm not stockpiling this type 1 for precisely that reason - justing gathering enough to power exisiting harvesters with a little left over. I'm also keeping three solars on standby for when this happens again. Inter-planetary travel is just too much hassle, especially when that other planet may lose its source at any time too.
I asked one question on that TC thread which no one could really answer, though perhaps they have now - namely, if this system comes in, we'll presumably need to have some way of assigning particular fuel sources to particular machines (for various reasons i'll not go in to here).
The jist of it is, I may want to place abig chemical harv for just 2 days to top up stock (don't use a huge amount). With the current random use of energy sources in backpacks, how can I avoid loading this temporary machine with my very best fuel (providing, say,5 times the energy of a lesser fuel) that may power it for days longer than I actually want?
Hope this makes sense - not the clearest explanation ever but folk who redeed and juggle machines a lot may understand!
