Ok, here's a bit more info on this topic.

First of all, for those of you unable to pickup items... it is because another item is either under it, ontop of it, or so close to it that the footprints of both items are overlapping.

Solution: target one if the items and type /move back 10 This will move the item back 10m and that's usually enough to get it away from the other item. If not, repeat the command to move it back further. This is also how you resolve the issue of accidently (or intentionally) stacking factory crates ontop of each other. Target one, /move it, then you ca pick it up.

For those of you not being able to use the /move and /rotate commands, do you have the item targetted? I have not personally tried moving items by typing the object's name. But then, since I tend to rename all of my furniture to nothing (this way it hides the ugly text when someone moves the mouse over your furniture), moving furniture by name would not be an option for me.

Possible solution: target the item you wish to move (making sure that another item is not blocking your view by even the slightest amount), and try the /move or /rotate command. If another item is between you and the item you wish to move, it can sometimes block your view and you may get the message "You cannot see that object." Try moving closer, or around the item so that your view is not restricted. Also, there is an apparent bug in the placement system. If you personally move to a different spot while moving an item, you may need to repeat the /move or /rotate command in order for it to take. I have had to do this alot, and sometimes even 3 times in a row before the item would move.

Currently there is no /move up or /move down command to allow you to raise or lower objects. There are a few items in game that are consider "floaters" in that they naturally float at a certain level about the floor when you drop them. Most items fall to the floor, or to a default level when dropped. The only know way to place an item higher than it's default position is to drop it on stairs or at a higher level in the house, and /move it around the house. Items cannot be moved through doorways, and houses without stairs offer no way to raise items at all.
