Well i must say im am kinda disheartened about the achritect profession. I havea 2nd char and hes gettin to master arch. I mainly want the skill to be able to build sweet harvs as well as make a decent living off the proceeds.

However after reading this im starting to wonder if what im doing is in vain. Im still going to grind out the last bit of arch jsut to beable to say i master another profession but i dunno if ill be keeping it.

About the lots... i have 2 chars only cause i have a friend that plays on another server adn i gotta say that if it wasent for having a combined total of 20 lots id be hating life right now. I usually max out the total amount when a good grade/% comes along and its very helpful.

I just hope that they fix the few "broken" things on the arch profession. Id like to see this be a sweet set of skills like i think it can be.

Yep more lots!!!

Merchs have reduced fees as a perk. I think architects should have a few more lots or have houses count as less lots as one. That would be a nice perk we really do need a little more space then other crafting professions.

I am not ranting, but everything on our profession is currently broken. Not a few, everything. Harvesters use to much power (bug) too much Maitainence (bug) do not have a working graphic (bug) cannot be turned off (bug) has the most items in the lower skill branches than any other profession in the game, allowing grinders to sell stuff at or below cost (design flaw) non function items <lamps> (bug) the ONLY crafted items in the game with zero decay accross the entire spectrum of crafted items (design flaw)....you get the idea. We are not alone in being broken by any means, but we are the one class that can loose so much so fast for so little return due to these errors.

My 2 cents. /climbs off the soapbox

Thanks again to all that have replied to my posting and a few tips will help me abit..im one of those architects that can barely make 100k but when i do its all gone quickly with maintence of deeds..which is way too costly.. SONY WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THIS JOB PROFFESSION? is george lucas having us run through these hoops as reason to finding/writing a better script for his movies? i now look at this game in its entire scope.. all long roaded paths are still a waste of time even when you get to that point when you want to lay down your city hall..you wont be able to due to overlimits..i think the player cities was a good idea but a bad one at the same time since everyone will not be able to enjoy making a city( just like the jedi issue) now lets go into cost..it cost way too much and we're not getting more than what its worth..sony can you rank the worth( they still wont answer) when you talk about the cost of service as to rather the gameplay..im still being ripped-off..just like in the boring world of everquest..im paying 41 bucks for 3 months of service on something that i will never get the full range of service from..stop bulling around and fix these issues im and other architects and players are having..i once dreamed of star wars online and i thank you for making it a reality but there needs to be some meetings with the developers of the game..and dont act like you're not aware of this games rating lately..going down and down and down make this more enjoyable to those that are paying your bills and keeping you employed as Techs.! architects unite..in my opinon the expansion will have even bigger problems concerning architects..we need to be treated fair...thanks..can a TECH FROM SONY even if its archangel respond would like to know what the response is...thanks..and bless our troops out there.

Its a pretty simple point to see, 2 lots for my house, 2 lots for my factory, 6 lots for harvesters. How the hell am I supposed to keep enough AL, Copper, Steel, Gas, Ore, Carb. Ore....and that is just for the generator turbines.

I would never be able to do this if I didn't have 2 accounts!!!

hmm....if you want to be stable you have to pay for 2 accounts, does Sony want it this way???

Try being a Weaponsmith. "AL, Copper, Steel, Gas, Ore, Carb. Ore". Heck, we need like 3 different, named types of Aluminum, about 6 different types of Coppers, a whole mess of Steels, not to mention Irons, named Ores, and even Chemicals.

Not to put you down, but you're not meant to be doing everything on your own. Find resource suppliers. Set up trade negotiations. Turn to others for help.

Using 2 BER 14 Fusion Gens, and 8 BER 10 MMIs, the cost per unit of resource is less than half a credit. If you bought Ore at 2 CPU, and guaranteed someone that whatever Ore their harvesters mined, you'd take, they'd be making a 150% profit for doing almost nothing (find a 50% or better spot, set down harvies, maintain and power, go off to do something else).

The problem with small time Crafters is simply their lack of understanding of inter-player mechanics. Learn to work with others. Join a PA. Be cooperative.

Too much power? You can run 8 HMMIs on 2 Fusion Generators.

too much Maitainence (bug)

The cost per unit of resource to mine is piddly, about 0.2-0.5 credits per resource.

the ONLY crafted items in the game with zero decay accross the entire spectrum of crafted
items (design flaw)

You DO realize that ALL structures decay, and decay much faster and much worse than EVERY other item in the game? The only difference lies in the fact that you have to PAY MAINTENANCE and in some cases, POWER, to offset this decay. Besides, if structures were unrepairable, and simply decayed, it would suck.

Hey DTox!

Actually, I am a W/S as well. Master W/S, Architect, Artisan, & 3/4/0/4 Merchant. So I know EXACTLY how much is needed to feed that profession. Once I find weaponsgrade material, I put 2 heavies on it for a week. Then I am set for 3-4 months (with a few exceptions). I currently have all my W/S resources gathered, except for Irolunn Gas (which I used up by accident), with between 50-100k of everything on my spreadsheet. I always look for better quality, or to resupply anything I am below 50k on, but that is not hard.

However (don't you hate that word )

Harvesters are bugged in that many are using more power than they should. Known fact, Temporary workaround is to redeed. Same with maintainence. And if resources are so cheap, why do architects get blasted for charging 3 cpu for crafted items, & W/S charge 10-50 cpu and more? I don't charge that much by a long shot, I have some of the better melee weapons & explosives on my server, and will be putting Blaster weapons back up when I can crank out the good ones again (I hate to sell junk). Lastly, maintainence costs cover the "cost of doing buissness". Once weapons can be fixed to origional condition by a weapon repair tool, by anyone with a few hundred credits spare change, then weaponsmiths will understand the frustration level of architects in this game.

I recognize your points, but they don't appear to come from someone who "walks the walk". But I may be wrong I would like to see a VERY slight degredation of harvesters. Leave the rest alone. Make harvesters cost more in maintainence over a prolonged period of time (happens in real life), reduce effectiveness over a long period of use (ditto)....something. But that is just my ideas, many others have already been voiced.

"hmm....if you want to be stable you have to pay for 2 accounts, does Sony want it this way???"

In a word, yes. They don't want people to be able to everything on their own. They want people to cooperate and be dependent on each other. Personally, I get grumpy about having to Interact as much as the next obsessive solo online gamer, but this is definitely how SOE see it...EQ is no different.

It needn't be a group-hug crafting commune though. Just find a fairly trustworthy non-crafting guildie, or similar and dump lots of junk in their lots

6 Accounts is way too much to spend on SWG

2 is pushing it. I like to think i get my money's worth with just the one.
