Are you interested in doing a cross galaxy slot trade. I will make a char on your server and you on mine, I will just have you place 10 Harvies in a Field, and you just set them list me as Admin and forget them. When the shift happens I will just change the resouces and worry about moving them. I am on Eclipse. Any Thoughts?

Mal, I would just point out that once these are down you will NOT be able to move them, only the 'owner' of the harvester can re-deed, even if you have admin rights you cannot, you will be able to turn on, off, change resource, add power, pay maint, (I'm not sure if you can rename), but you will NOT, that means NEVER, NOT EVER, be able to move them. So pick your spot VERRRRRRY carefully. (i.e. about 10m from your house).
This is a good way for budding architects to keep their resource costs down. Even if the spot is not pulling what you want you can look to harvest the most common resource and sell it on. if nothing is in that spot then you are limited to the cost of maintenance, since power will not be used if you turn the harvester off. But remember to get a waypoint, and remember that if the guy you swapped with deletes hi/her char, or simply quits the game then the harvs will poof. In any event after a week or so you should be fully paid up on the outlay, so the risk is actually quite small of losing anything.

4. All my prices are set in line with a range that is
a) apparently accepted on my server
b) acceptable to me
c) linked to resource costs (i.e. I must make a profit in orer to survive), and
d) able to generate return business and word of mouth recommendations.
e) reflects the fact that I keep my vendors well stocked at all times, I can do this because I specialise in mediums
I do not overcharge my customers, but neither do I give the stuff away, and I most definitely do not get involved in haggling, bargaining or undercutting.

I probably sell about the cheapest med mins in the galaxy (at least I have not seen them cheaper except for resales), I have hundreds in stock at a time, they are what brings the customers to my store in the first place

Who wouldchoose to be a Master Architect
It's disappointing that I see many of my master architect colleagues scorn non-master furniture and housing. Regardless of the fact that it will always be difficult to make large profit margins on these items, one thing cannot be disputed: Any table/chair/house is as good as the next. You don't have to discount it (or even delete it), because you only achieved BER X. And you don't have to worry about whether or not a good spawn of steel or ore is going to come soon. Any resrouce works, somake a bunch, price it low, and it will sell.
My prices for non-master furniture are pretty low. 3 cpu for any mineral component.8 cpu for any hide component. Yes, I know I could sell the raw materials for the same price (and possibly higher), but that isn't why I do it. I do it for the love of the game! I love seeing people buy furniture. I love knowing that I have one of the best stocked furniture vendors in my galaxy (it may, in fact, be the best one). I love knowing that whena person buys a deed for a house from my vendor, that they can actually buy a home. I also love seeing and hearing about how beautiful people's homes are, as a result of the furniture they bought off my vendor.
Now Master Architect items are different. I feel these should be for the rich and famous, and I price them accordingly. I've received one complaint that my prices are too high, and I repeat: "These items are for the rich and famous. Come back when you are rich and famous." Not much of it sells, but that's fine with me.
At any rate, my point is, is that furniture is darned easy to make, and will sell well. Sure it doesn't (and shouldn't) command the same margin, but it can be as fun, or even more fun to make. Also, just having furniture in stock, can and will lead to sales in other areas.
I'm on Bria, not a master, but I don't need to be. I'm going to master it, but will probably drop to 0440 which gets me everything I need. I have no interest in buildings or furniture. Furniture is too finicky a market for me, too many items to stock for such a low turnover. Buildings require vast amounts of ore, which is one of the most expensive things to harvest yet has the lowest selling price per unit. Oh well, that's not the point of the thread. My pricing goes:
Medium BER10 - 60K
Heavy Water BER13 - 100K
Fusion BER14 - 175K
Heavy Gas BER13- 175K
Heavy BER13 - 150K
Any experimentation failures get large markdowns.
Medium BER9 - 40K
Fusion BER13 - 125K
Gas BER12 - 125K
Water BER12 - 60K
Heavy BER13 - 100K
Worse than that and I practically give them away. I am a bit curious though, you said:
"Now that I'm done crafting for XP, I'm switching gears to crafting for credits"
I don't know about you other architects, but I started making bank as soon as I hit novice architect. Factories are good sellers, and if you get up to about 0310 you can make some good medium mineral harvesters whch are a nice profit. Architect is different than the other crafting professions, there's a lot of profit to be had at all levels, in my experience.
