Thread: Is my math wrong?
Good to see people's math skills are coming around. If you see people selling small houses for less then 15k you can take solace in the fact that they won't be doing it for very long. I get several /tells a day asking me "d00d where is teh best place to sell stuff" and "tell me where the l33t ore spot is!" These people don't have a clue. They are also the ones who are borrowing money from people to stay afloat. When you try to explain to them that they are broke because they are selling for so cheap, they just don't get it.
I work solo, I have 10 harvesters, no shared lots, nothing. I play on the Bria server, with Corellia as my home planet. As of right now, I've got up to furniture III, installations III, and buildings III plus I'm a master artisan. All this and I've got 250,000 in the bank and and accounts receivable department worth another 50k.
How do I do this? I sell my deeds in a friendly manner, I work hard for my customers, and most importantly I sell my structures for 5+ credits per resource.
I saw a fellow architect selling factories for 30k the other day and I explained the errors in his economics to him. He now sells factories for 55 to 65k, small houses for 17k and is building a nice customer base. It can be done folks, just put a little effort into it!

I am on naritus, and when i started, (one day into the game) i noticed 4 novice architects walking around. Now im not one to see 4 architects walking around together on the second day the game has been out and thinknothing of it. 2 days later, i found out that 50 people from some other mmorpg (eq or daoc i would presume) had all come together on naritus with a solid plan to take over the world!. yipee... Well, withen 3 days, We had Mortis, the Master Architect. I was ok with this, i mean, they did the work, between those 50 people there were around 100 harvestors supporting all their little crafters, giving them a endless amount of resources and weapons/armor/houses/whatever the hell else they fancied. i was planing to open my own cantina, being the best musician on tatooine, everyone thought it was a great idea. so i inquired to buying a large house from mortis (which is a little big, but it was also going to be a hospital and a vendor hut) and they said 250k. I had 3 friends going on this with me, one was a missioning psychopath that could rake in 50k a day easy, the other already had 50k, and my job was just to raise my skills (the other was a chef). so we thought, give us 6 days, we have 250k easy. in those 6 days, we made the money, no sweat. BUT.......on the 5th day.....was the infamous Harvestor cost more money now nerf. which we overlooked. Time to talk to mortis on the 6th day, i told him we had the money, he told me it was now going to be 1.5 million creds, we are responsible for failures (which in the 50 combines to make a large house is almost guarenteed) so were like, wow, 1.5million........and then he said 2.5 million and he would guarentee us a large house....
Well, to me, this freekin sucks. I dont really care how much money it takes to hervestors going. or how much credits resources cost. i may sound like a whiney little noob, but this is insane. They made it so 50 people could become master architects, weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, droid engineers, chefs, tailor's and merchants in the begining of the game. Then, once they were all masters sitting under a mountain of credits and resources. take away the abilility for other people to become such things because they cannot afford to keep 1 harvestor running, as opposed to 100+. This so eliminated the possibility of anyone else becoming a master for maybe 5 weeks, and in those 5 weeks, the 50 masters will be able to charge whatever they want, and take over the whole freekin world, because no one can compete with them.
Btw, sorry if this has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, i did have somthing to say about whatever it was that you guys were talking about, but i got carried away and forgot what it was.

All my ore is on 50 - 56% which I feel generates about 500 units per 8 hours or 1500 units in a 24hour period. Plus the alum/chem at about 3k per day each. I am thus generating 7500 hour and 3000 aluminum and 3000 chem per day.
A small house requires 3380 units of materials. One day of operating costs lets me sell 2 houses.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
Not a big point but there is a small error to your math. 1500 units of ore in 24 hours does not equal 2 houses a day. Of that 3388 units of materials 2400 of it is Ore.
