This may not help, but I'll mention it anyway in case it helps.

DrT (and all other architects), stop looking at Overall Quality. It is irrelevant to 90% of architecture. Unit Toughness is the ONLY stat that matters on everything except some furniture and a few electronic bits like generators.

Switching from ore that was OQ 800+ UT 28 to ore that's OQ 450 UT 800+ seemed to drop my failure rates by more than 75%. I also switched all my metals to high UT (iron is usually good for this). It is anecdotal, but I've been watching for weeksnow, and my failure rate is very low. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Oddly enough, the last two days I've had a few more failures than usual, but even that was like5 failures out of 70+ attempts, and all on fairly small stuff.

I feel your pain Drterror, but I can't empathize with you. You see I've never had a failure on anything medium and up on final assembly. Several guild halls, heavy harvesters, more medium harvesters and solars than I can count, scores of factories, not one failure. (seriously).

This is all since I stand in front of my crafting station which is 95% effective, using a 99% effective structrual tool. All sub components I use are generated by a factory and I throw out any schematic that I make that comes up under 40%.

If you throw a mish mash of components in with varying degrees of quality, you're going to have more failures then I am. It sucks that you've got to use a factory to do well, but since i have, i've done REALLY well.

Good luck friend,

I believe i experience less crits while in the field as well.

Resources can't be it. Using the same resourcesi've had a bad day of crits and then the next day none. I don't use a personal crafting station anymore unless it's required. If i am having a bad day with crits i'll take a break and do something else.

I have very few critical failiures... had one medium harvister but that's life.... Dont think i'd be the same if i'd lost a guild hall but to me it seems ok

My architect is bigger than your architect.

I agree that criticals have been high lately. I sense some behind-the-scenes chr ballancing going on.

Drterror .... just curious .. what planet is your shop on ? .. I actually seem to have even less failures when I have a little lag. It could be something to do with the random rolls on a given planet server ? like if the population is sparse you get like all the rolls. If it is heavily populated the rolls get spread out ? I could just be pissing into the wind with this but I have yet to experience the staggering criticals some of the people out there are saying they get. I can understand the frustration ... after having wasted my heavy harvester uprgrade last night to a practice. I can only imagine losing final assembly on say a PA hall . Or god forbid when player cities are in and we can build starports or shuttleports or whatever, which will probably be a good pennies worth of resources, losing those.

I am based outside of theed on naboo and never have lag. It would be quite ridiculous if my lack of lag is the reason for my consistent criticals recently. Either way I think the devs need to tone it done a whole lot, I can't tolerate much more of this crap.

Quick note before bed, I have failed on exactly 16 things on the way to master. In each case it was due to me adding ingredients to fast (double stacking with the mouse), letting the crafting station sit open to long wile i chatted orbecause i backed out in mid craft with the escape key to get more resources out of a bag and then reopened it the tool within a short period of time. Since realizing this about two weeks ago i have failed on nothing. Also when experimenting if you give it time to catch up between single attemts, at least I have noticed far less fails.

I rarely failed on my way to MA, In the last 5 days I've failed 2 medium and 1 large house.

I also can say Random Numbers, All of you that haven't had a string of big fails.. /cackle. Just wait.

Totally agree. I have noticed a major increase in the crit failures. I used to get them occasionally. I now get them nightly. I have remade my crafting stations and tools. I failed 3 wall units in a row last night and a generator turbine before I stopped. I assume it's because we bitch about it so much the devs are bitchslapping us. I'd be willing to bet none of the devs are architects. It has to be thier most hated profession.

This conversation always occurs on Monday. I had a week without any bad happening and failed on 3 of 5 walls. Put the tools down, destroy them go do something else and let the other guy get the failures for an hour. Then come back, make new tools and all will be well.
