Excellent job, again.
Another option for the Imported Furniture could be that the requirements are specific to something indiginous - easy to do with Hides I would say, while other types of resources rotate constantly.
But then, slicing is badass. =)

Smaller crafting stations - We should be able to craft smaller versions of the crafting stations, an Advanced Model, that you get at maybe say...Furniture IV or Master Architect. Many of the the crafting stations are extremely bulky and an eye-sore, such as the Weapons station or the Food station, they're not suitable for indoors.
Best suggestion ever.

Great posts.
A few morethoughts:
Make desk lamps actually be placeable on desks.
Allow us (or some other proffesion) to change the colors of things like couches (I haven't found a way of doing this)
Give us paintings. Again, maybe not the furniture makers role to paint, but our walls are boring.
And I echo the point made above of making it easier to place your furniture, for examplefrom an overhead view (like placing a house / harvester)

Another excellent and well thought out Post! I fully agree - there is so much more that can be done for Furniture. Here's a bump for this thread so it doesn't get lost!
