I agree, make the quality of the material needed higher, not the quantity. For the amount of hides you guys need you could cover the entire city of Mos Eisley!!

I think the even more glaring issue is that the current state of the economy means this:

Small House: 10K (or thereabouts, let's not start an argument)

Curved Leather Couch: 2,399 (based on about 8 per hide, 3 per metal)

So basically, 4 couches equal one house? Those must be some REALLY nice couches. If any of you in real life are willing to trade me your house for four couches, you've got a deal.

Metal is easy to get, 200-250 Wooly Hides for a curved Couch or a Large Bed can take HOURS for me to get, as I'm not much of a fighter so I have to hunt little baby mobs on the edge of town. Or, I can buy them, and then sell them either at a loss or breakeven once crafted. It's ridiculous.

I really don't see hides as being a large issue here. A few items mentioned, such as the ottoman, could probably use a re-tune on the required hides. I see the main problem is justification. What justifies the use of so many hides for a chair or couch?

Sofa Chair requires 250 hide and 200 metal to make, a little over the top, but, by the time you can make Furniture IV items, it is manageable.

Lowering the required hides for furniture won't just effect Architects either, this will also effect Scouts. Maybe the real focus should be re-balancing the amount of hides you get from a creature of giant sizes, such as Fambaas. But I recall that in Beta some things were dropping over 500+ hides and they had determined that this was too much.

So on the larger scope, hides are fine for now. I'm sure you can locate a Scout who'd be more then willing to trade you hides for furniture.

And yes Kaori, there are people out there that will haggle your house prices but end up paying twice the amount on furniture. The largest single transaction I've had was 100k in Furniture, I had to help carry all his furniture back to his house

You know, for a game that is futuristic and can make blasters and bazaar terminals that magically store all sorts of stuff and you can retrieve them and starships, one would think they would have learned how to use things other than hides.

What about fiberplast for cloth covering of couches?
