Thread: Chewing my power
... experimented harvesters use more power
... the display in the status window is not 100% accurate on duration calculation
... (not 100% sure of this yet but I suspect) harvesters keep running when power is below zero
I'm not sure if the calculations and displays are incorrect due to using radioactive power (with varying PE) or something else. I am using PE900+ power and my harvesters routinely run when below 0 power. Today I had to add 4000 before the "available power" came above zero, but the harvester was running the whole time it was below 0 (I watched it add to the hopper while power was below 0).
On our server (Wanderhome) there is hardly any power to get. I suspect it has to do with this problem.
These are all non-experimented, old miners I have been using for several months.
I had this bug happen to me once when I tried to place a personal extractor, wqas unable to set a resource besides blank, was able to redeed and corrected the problem. So anyways, once I had this problem, I could not change them friday, saturday, or sunday. Sat. I decided I would run the miners out of power and this is when I experienced the power bug... Once they were out of power they still continued to mine I noticed on Sunday. So they were sitting here out of power, unable to switch resource, unable to turn them off, so unable to redeed. What ended up happening is the resource shifted on monday and they were no longer bugged, however when I placed power in them, the power they would of used during their 0 power state was consumed. Anyways this is all the info I have on this, like I said I have bugged this issue twice already.
Display bug only I think
I saw 4 days become 2 days the following day, then the next day hit zero but kept running for almost 4 full days after that, with resources in the hopper to show for 4 days of running at 0 Power.
Then they all stopped and I had to redeed to get the spots free.
The display of how much power is remaining is bugged and ticks down too fast.
A harvester will show as having 0 power, a good deal sooner than when it actually runs out.
Temporary work-around:
To see how much power is really left, stop then restart your harvester. This causes the harvester to get the correct number of units of power remaining, and the status will be correct... until the next time-lapse occurs.
So rest assured, your harvester is not eating your power faster... It's just a display bug.
They CAN refund you cash & power lost, and replace the harvesters that are bugged.
Good thing I got here! Let me explain this to you all... The reason it is saying that you deposited 488 power (example) when you really put in 1000 is because of the harvester not stopping when power reaches 0, and continueing to run, causing the power level in theory to drop to a negative number. Think of it as a loan. It is just going BELOW 0 when it reaches 0.
Ok, but I don't know why harvesters are eating up power so fast, and I am noticing it too!
1. Check power status
2. Turn harvester off, then on.
3. Refresh status
There's your accurate power reading.
