Architects agreeing on pricing? Agreeing not to sell below a certain level? Sounds like a market fix if I've ever heard of one. And, in r/l these sorts of ideas about price fixing can get you in trouble with the law.

I feel your pain though, I'm starting Evik as a nov arch. soon and I worry about making money and advancing my business. However, the way the economy is, I will still have to supplement my income with missions. However, to me all this is simply market forces at work.

When prices were high, you had a flood of ppl that rushed into the profession to make money. However, they flooded the markets with their goods and the prices fell. As more and more ppl leave the profession and the stream of goods dries up, prices will naturally start rising again. It's basic economics, supply and demand. You are simply witnessing these forces in action. It's not always pretty and very often people lose their businesses but the markets are working. Look at armorsmiths, they could come on Shadowfire and charge whatever they want because there are absolutely NO armorsmiths with goods in their vendors.

You are right

I have been watching my brother work as a weapon smith, there is no way he could work with my price schedule and survive.

It takes him 10 times as long to find or procure the super high quality resources he needs. He throws away a ton of stuff until he gets just the right part to make a schematic with.

It is actually a whole lot more complicated than architect is, we have it easy, we just need boatloads of common stuff.

Bah, the economy has been good to me. I've been selling furniture for weeks and I see no downturn in sightfor demand. To the contrary it is getting better.

One has to first understand what the goal is to be for each architect. Not all of us can be billionaires but there is certainly enough business that will sustain enough credits to be able play and enjoy the game.

According to my experiece, when i was putting 1k ore on bazzar and sell it for 3000cr (3cr/unit), it sold within 10 mins. (For some people now selling resources up to 6cr/unit @_@! )

But when I am trying to sell a small house at 8k (around 2.4cr/unit) in coronet, keep shouting for half an hour and finally make 1 sale.

The fact is, No.s of Architect/products > Market needs, this also means this the grow of the new players hits the neck of the bottle and just stuck there.

Just a silly thought, if most of the architect just stop building anything and sell resources for a period, may be just couple of days, i am interested to dee what will happen...

Well not to beat a dead horse..... okay, lets beat it one more time.

Anyway, the lessons we have all placed on how economies work in this post are just as relevant here. As more architects appear, supply will increase and prices will drop (basic supply and demand). This will continue until the market get saturated and its not worth it for anyone to be an architect (this is highlighted in a few of the aforementioned posts were people have switched to selling resources instead of deeds). Achitects will then diminsh and the price will again rise. This cycle will continue over and over again. That is just how economies work.

I highlight again the book The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. There Mr. Smith outlines out economies, such as we have in SWG, work. Itstates how prices will fluctuate based on supply and demand. It is very relevant to anyone who want to increase there coffers in the SWG worlds.

However, I find that many players have other requirements then just price when they purchase deeds. Although quality does not matter (since there is no difference), other criteria does matter, such as: how fast can you produce the deed, can you get other items from your shop as well (armor, weapons, etc.), how convenient is it to purchase from you (locations, vedors, etc.) If you want to keep your prices higher then others, you must consider these type factors when you sell items. Doing so will keep you busy and keep your profit margins high,

Again, I offer suggestions which may eliviate your frustration for the current prices of deeds. That is how a free market economy works.

Also keep this is mind. Those who sell there deeds for "dirt cheap" prices cannot sell to everyone looking. Those other people will either have to wait another day or two or go to you. Be ready to pick up their business.

Hope that helps.

That is the ticket Jarib, fully embrace the free market and go with it.

Most of the problem here is peoples inability to shift paradigms.

The market is not the same as it was a month ago, and it never will be again.

The person stating that a 65% heavy site using 80% radioactive at 2:1 is missing 2 important things. First is re-deed costs on your harvesters, most likely got to move them every week or two at best, otherwise there's no way you'll get what you need, second 2:1 power assumes 1000PE power, anything over 500PE is UP to double, depending on PE. Formula is Effective power = power x 2 x PE / 1000. Highest PE I've seen is like 950, but that was only once, and a class 7 radioactive, class 4 and lower generally have PE less than 700, and wide open areas of radioactive that high to place a large number of fusions is also pretty rare. A more reasonable estimate of actual cost is around .5-.6c/u, no where near .3. Someone selling for 1c/u a duper, maybe not, but thier profit margin stinks, and they're probably just barely getting by

Furniture has not been hit yet, and wont likely get hit for quite a while.

The furniture market is well over 15 times as big as the housing market. ( 15 items in a house at a minimum )
