Here is another method.
Start with artisan. Find artisan terminal, make a way point. pick a direction and move 1024 meters away from artisan terminal. Start looking for a group of harvesters. When you find a group, survey and find highest concentration of mineral there. if over 69% make waypoint, if not find another group until you have a waypoint for a resource at 69%.
Now just return to the artisan terminal, Get your training droid to give you your bike. use terminal and take 2 survey missions for the resource you have located. Remember steel and Iron are ferrous and copper and aluminum are nonferrous. When you get 2 missions hop on your bike ride to waypoint survey get paid. Now just ride back to terminal and get 2 more missions. Do this for several hours. If you can ask to join a group with others so missions pay more.
One week of doing this and you will have a million credits. Now you can do whatever you want with your charactor.

To save on shuttle wait times (Moenia to Deeja Peak run) I picked up my two 1.2k paying missions from the Artisan terminal in Mos Entha, by the Fallen Star Cantina, made sure they terminated in Mos Taike, then just ran there. Not sure of the time difference, but it didn't take very long. Could get 5k done in about 15 minutes from memory.
