I never ever keep walls in stock, I do keep crates of structure modules in stock along with ore and metal so I can make walls in a matter of seconds. I try and stick to the concept of 'if you stock it, they will buy'. I try and keep some of everything on my vendor and that usually works well. Taking special orders doesn't hurt either.

Resources to keep on hand - ore, ore, metal, ore, ore... You can never have enough ore on you. Copper, aluminum, steel are the metals you need. It's always nice to have a throw away metal to grind walls and houses together. If you find a good spot of a metal, jump on it so you don't have to waste your good metal stock on things like furniture which doesn't care about quaility. Aluminum and copper quality is rrelevant as well. Personally I look for high quality steel and use that as the building block for the items that have experimental quality and the final assembly on harvesters.

Pricing - I usually use the old 3cr per resource used in houses and furniture resulting in 10k for small houses, 60k for mediums and 100k for large. For harvesters I'm charging 5k per BER for medium harvesters and 10k per BER for large harvesters, 40k for factories. People seem to be buying...
