Do the math, Tstorm. Rovani is correct. Assume that 100 players join the Naritus server daily and spread equally among the 5 starter planets. So, 20 people have settled on your planet. Of those 20 people, 5 come to your city-Lake Retreat and Dee'ja Peak not withstanding because really no one lives there. Of those 5, 2.5 come to you for a house/harvester while the other 2.5 go the the other Master Architect next door to you.

Once he upgrades to a large house (6 lots), one solar gen (1 lot), and 3 heavies (3 lots), what will he need you for? His house will never decay, neither will his heavies. His house can hold only 250 items. He fills it up with all master architect level furniture. He's done.

Face it, Tstorm. There is a finite amount of decent money to be made as architect with the current state of the game. The piddly 150k credits you will make every 3-4 weeks because someone forgot to pay maintenance is not going to make it worthwhile to be an architect. You disagree? Tell me why. Why would Combat Class Noob buy anything from you once he has his large house, power source, and heavies? What would he buy, as we never get any new schematics in the game?

Math done. I don't agree. Perhaps when you try your math again, you should take off your socks to assist you.

Face it Logray, there are better solutions than removing/moving furniture as RovaniDragon advocates.

Introducing decay to furniture as well as structures is a likely candidate. One that has been discussed here before as well.

I have a feeling decay on furniture won't really solve the problem, however, since furniture isn't like armor, weapons, or even structures -- people don't NEED furniture. It isn't likely to be a major moneymaker over the long haul and it will slow up, but you aren't "doing the math" correctly if you think it will grind to a halt. Some Architects will enjoy it despite the slowing demand and it will make a nice niche market for them. What's wrong with that?

Clearly, I think the Devs have their work cut out for them as this week's update has hurt Architects (and those selling furniture in particular). Just like the other professions, however, there will be additional changes made over time.

What I would like to see (DANGER -- WISHLIST COMING! The anti-wishlist coalition may wish to close their eyes) is:

- Give each lot size house a separate item allotment for furniture. If people want to go beyond that limit and cut into the storage space, so be it. This will guarantee some room for furniture (and furniture sales).

- Add decay to furniture

- Add furniture repair kits to the game

- Add more types/styles of furniture to keep demand coming

- Allow furniture to be colorized by the manufacturer

- Other?

All said, there will be Architects that think furniture is a waste of resources, time, and not worthy of the profession. You are entitled to your opinion.

There will also be Architects who enjoy doing furniture as an aside to building structures. They are entitled to their opinions as well.

It is obvious that I'm in the "furniture lover's" crowd and while the changes this week have me a bit frustrated I am not the image of doom and gloom some of the others are. I am still selling furniture and I expect to continue.

I also expect the Devs to communicate with us better so that we understand their intent. All this talk of removing or moving skills is based upon our limited knowledge from a player perspective and trying to play backseat driver isn't the answer. Let's be sure to make the Devs aware that we feel furniture makers have been hurt with this last update, tell them why we feel this, and see what they tell us?

I don't understand what you consider bad about this:

House limits are now 75 per lot instead of 25 per lot.

This means that my small house now holds 150 items instead of 50. Howdoes this"new item limits suck" ?!?!

There was hardly any bad changes in these recent huge updates.

-Crafting is alot easier now that multiple slots of resource load at the same time.

-No more blinking loading item screen to slow it down.

-You can hit enter to go into experiment instead of having to let go of keyboard to click the mouse. If you DON'T want to experiment and are just grinding, put away your droid or move from the crafting station!

- I can now make crafting stations/tools to 99% effectiveness.

you arent seeing the bigger picture though.

Once people have what they want, how will your furniture sales be then?

I'm not sure what dropping Furniture has to do with your skill points. To reach Urban Planner, you'll need to be a Master Architect, to even be an Architect you need Artisan, you're still going to have Furniture no matter where you move it to.

I don't see them giving us Player City related items in the Architect profession either. If they did that, Master Architects would have the ability to make Player Citystructures the second it goes in,and thenforcethe little guys into submission. Making Player City buildings only accessable to Urban Planner gives everyone a (mostly) fair chance at attaining it. Meaning, everyone will have to work to get there, not get it handed to them on a silver platter.

Business related structures would probably be the most desirable and balancing addition to the Architect profession.

As usual you have also failed to see the point. (but you love furniture so i can see your point)

Once EVERYBODY has what THEY want. Newbies, oldies, none of that will matter.

Again, moving furniture down to artisan (will make artisan more viable), and putting player cities in architech will help the architech overall.

But when everybody has what they want, the WHOLE SYSTEM of architecture will be destroyed.

People wont need furniture, people wont need large harvesters, people wont need houses.

Get the picture yet?

The whole class as i have been saying is a mid term profession because we cant keep producing items like weaponsmiths and armorsmiths. OUR STUFF DOESNT DECAY unles people let it dacay.

RovaniDragon, looks like it's time for you to get out of the Architect profession then.

One good thing about SWG is that you don't have to delete your character, you can just give back your skill points and do something else. So you don't lose your Artisan skills why don't you become a Weaponsmith? Practially everyone needs weapons. You should become a Weaponsmith/Smuggler then you can slice your own weapons and also sell spice! Sounds like a money-maker to me.

As for me, I'm gonna stay a Master Architect and become an Urban Planner.

Or, they could just keep adding and taking away different styles of furniture that we could make.

Besides, getting rid of furniture from the Architect profession would fall under the wishlist category. As anyone who reads this board knows, you are adamantly opposed to doing anything considered "wishlist".

no, im only opposed to wishlist item getting submitted in out TOP 5 list while we still have major bugs.

Get your facts stright please.

This means that my small house now holds 150 items instead of 50. How does this "new item limits suck" ?!?!

no im sorry you are wrong. your small house now holds 100 less than it used to. not 100 moer than it used to.

For people who only want a house for storage, furniture gets in the way of available space.

I think everyone is missing the point. At first when they lowered the limit of stuff in the houses the devs said...opps bug. Then when asked why they were lowered to begin with they said to limit the ammount of things players can have. ie everything is getting to big for there atari computers. So they are not going to expand or add things we can make as they are trying to cut it.

Still makes sense to me that if they want to limit players items...lower the amount u can carry and what a travel pack holds. But they wouldnt want to piss of the fighters by making them buy a house to store stuff in. So we get the shaft.
