Thread: Coming Soon BER 11 mediums!!
AND....Mediums take less space to set then Heavies (ya I know, that horse has been beat to death since launch)
That would really make choosing a harvester a tough choice. Ignore the 90% patch that will only take personels, or go for the 60% patch that can take heavies? Will the resource hold out where the heavies will be best??
Don't get me wrong, I'll take the 11's and 14's.

Being a master arch for some time, and with the best resources my server has to offer. the best i was ever to make before i realized i didn't have to go that far was 97%. I max out my color bars on my OMUs/Harvestor Mech/TFP (usually around 96%). I have been wondering if we could hit 100% would it knock it over to 14 but at what cost. 20k of storage lost. Experimentation will only allow you to go to the combination of resource caps. Its like trying to put 10 pounds of sand in a 5pound bag. No matter how many scoops you try to put in it.. it'll only be 5pounds. You cannot experiment outside the scope of the resources. More exp points you have just allows you to have more trys to get there. Not saying they aren't changing the existing method of how resources react with player intervention, but if they are just giving a buff, it doesn't sound like it. Sounds to me they are giving players that aren't as established or thier server is not supporting the 990 stat in UT, SR, and HR we need to make the best harvestors... a better chance to compete to those that have acquired from hoarding, etc...
I normally use STeel and Iron of 930+ UT and 900+ in SR and HR and i have no problem making BER13, 120k+ storage.. If they do change this, its gonna get real ugly for most architects on my server... not insulting anyone but i do check other arch vendor's inventories to see what they are selling and how much.. and not many can compete with me + my volume speaks for itself.

I don't horde resources
I have a fleet of 40 harvestors that Idrillwhat i need when i need it. Drilled up 6 million units of low grade ore 3 weeks ago, and I only have 7 full stacks left. Ore is a sore topic for me.

On one hand if BER11/BER14 does go through then yes all our current stock of mining parts and BER10/BER13 harvesters will be severely devalued.
On the other hand we'll have a ton of renewed business as people delete the BER10/BER13's we've sold them over the past 2 years and upgrade to the new BER11 / BER14. I think in the long run we'll more than come out ahead with the new business that this will generate.

My current stock of meds and heavies becoming useless... I can deal with that, not happily but I can deal.
Boost in harvester sales due to everyone upgrading... I can deal with that happily. (Even though it's an artificial boost and won't last)
What irks me is that this buff will be required in order to compete in the market. Crafters will be in the same boat as the combat folks were pre-cu. If you're not buffed then you have no chance at being successful. It's great that the entertainers are getting new buffs and stuff, that's fine. I do have a problem with them getting new stuff at the expense of my game. If I wanted to run around in cantinas and schmooze with the entertainers then I would but that's just not fun to me. The idea of running from cantina to cantina hoping to find an ATK musician and then go through the whole 'socializing' thing in order to get a buff just chaps my hide. And yes they have to be ATK because it's a specific buff that they have to apply to you... not to mention that musicians are already rare and they are the only ones that can give the archie buff.
I can see it now:
- Log on - you sold out of heavy mineral harvies.
- Catch the shuttle to Theed, go to cantina. No musicians around. Start asking if any of the dancers have musician and can give the buff. Nope.
- Catch the shuttle to Coronet, go to the cantina. Awesome, there's a musician. 'Hey can you please give me an arch buff?'...'Hello?'... /sigh
- Shuttle around to other cantinas in the hopes that there will be a musician somewhere that can buff you.
- Don't find a buff, logoff since you can't effectively craft without it.
I really don't want to see my crafting profession turn into a buff hunt profession.

This thread is really a good read. Seems even the entertainers are worried about these buffs becoming a necessity and the backlash from the players that would be forced into searching them out.
If this goes on live, one thing it will definitely proves is that the "hoarding" problem was always an artificial one since they're going to permit harvesters that will harvest even more. And since the number 1 reason forno new content for architects is resolved since hoarding is now recognized as"never have been a problem", we want our content. NOW! ![]()
