That may be true, I probably do work harder for each cr than others do, although it doesnt feel hard. I ddint mean to sound so defensive. I am having a lot of fun doing what I do.

It doesnt feel harder becasue I dont need a vendor, I never sit in town a hawk my products. I can barely keep up with orders as they come in via e-mail. I dont think my prices are "better" than others, I dont even think my way of doing business is "better" than others. It is better for me simply because I dislike maintainig and advertizing a vendor, I really dislike hawking in town.

What I defend is the right for people to set thier own prices, that includes you. You have every right to set your prices how you see fit. I do not think you are stupid that your prices are higher than mine. If it works for you great, my way also works for me.

But realise that my work and worry is cut down by what I dont have to do, I never have to look for customers, they look for me. I never have to worry about slow times, because there has never been any for me.

What I am agaisnt is "price fixing", business by its very nature is competitive. I am agaisnt people that conplain aobut others prices, My business has moved me away from sales into contracts, which I like a whloe lot better. I actually know what I am going to make for the next 3 weeks as the products are ordered on contracts to PA's. It isnt better, but it is different. I personally like it better this way, but my way is not the only way.

Which is why I tell people to set thier own price, and dont let others tellthem want to do ... not even me.

this is something you need to figure out on your own for your own business to compete.

Where you and I will disagree is actual cost. The actual cost of a structure for me is 0.3 cr a unit. I dont deal in resources, I pull all my materials.

I may not be as low as you think, many of my buildings sell for closer to 4 cr a unit then 3, some sell for around 3 a few( like small houses ) sell for closer to 2.6. Depends on the product and what the customers expect. My personal gos is to always sell for less than the customer expects.

Now on some very large contracts ( like I am working on now ) there is a discount involved, but the result rarely falls below 3. Selling for that price while pulling at a tenth of that price has made me a lot of money.

There are many that have made a whole lot more than I have, and I say "good for them, they did a good job"! But I am not only in it for the money. It is nice to see a town be built almost exclusivly by your own hand.

Im gald that you have the same feeling.

i agree you can sell for whatever you like. but consider this if you charge like myself 5cr:1r (probably going to go up with the new experimentation) you can afford to find a resource contractor to sell at 2cr:1r. i have remaining lots after my house and factory of 5 i use all those for ore. i then purchase my other resources from a contractor, steel, copper, and alum. for the gas and chem i just shut done one of my ore for a couple days. now the big plus for me is i can 90% deliver my products in the same day, no matter what.

"oh you want 5 heavy mineral? that will be 750k for all 5." : me

"thats kinda high i have been told 450k" : customer

"well when did they say they would have it done?" : me

"next week sometime." : customer

"well if you do business with me ill have it done in 2 hours tops" : me

"really! sweet! i'll take it then" :customer

this is common for me. the money is out there. we see all the threads complaining about too much money. yes i do lose some sales because of prices but i make up for it with the ones i do make.

That is very true, my customers are the ones that are willing to contract it over time. They are willing to wait to pay less for high quality. Others will pay any price to have it right now.

You are certainly not wrong, and I am sure you way works well for you too
