The profession itself isn't dead, I've made over 3 million in the last few weeks. However, the Dev in charge of the Architect profession may be lacking a pulse.

i personally think the people you really see selling harvsters are the people that have always been architects and always will be one.

exactly.

making top endharvesters is a craft that requires an insane amount of resources and organisation. Building may not be as resource specific as smithing or cooking, but it is quantity demanding. Ore, generic metal, quantities of aluminum-copper-carb ore-gas-chem-steel for the identical turbines are only useful in the hands of an Architect in 100k stacks. On a full scale batch i'll probably craft 6 to 8 thousand structure modules, in turn i'll get 6-8 sets of 99walls... then i'll put around 750k resources in the meat grinder to get 500 generator turbines, and also make an assortment of (small) structure storage modules. After that, it's time for the harvesting component (ore mining unit, harvesting mechanism, etc)

The end product of this whole procedure is something like 70-120 ber13 harvester... (be it minerals, farms, chems, gas, or rate14 fusions)

This so called "fuss" alone keeps the number of active enterprising Archs at a low number ... and given the time consumed too make harvesters, and the fact that 70-80% (maybe more) of the people in game constantly change template, and that new players come ingame the ratio of Architects to clients and demand is kept at a reasonable lvl

I had a nice little post here expressing my views, but it was removed becuase I blamed alot of our issues on development and lack of thought of the powers that be. Bucha azzwipes. Keep removing my posts. You only prove my points.

Was Architect ever meant to be a sexy profession? I mean, three guys sitting in a cantina when two hot Zabrak chicks walk up. One guy is a Rebel pilot, one guy is a Bounty Hunter and the other guy is an Installation Designer.Who's gonna be stuckpaying the tab?

If you're prone to loneliness Architect is not for you. At least pick up Droid Engineer too so you won't be totally alone during those long Dune Sea nights tending your harvesters.

Ohhhhhhh along with that idea of more fun schematics for archie for city structures ... might be fun if say a Poli, Archie and a few other professions like say tailor had to do a quest together to unlock a single use schematic for a library or something random. So its a city wide effort to get the new city structures.

My gods. Has it come to this? Perhaps the M Arch diploma should also come with a blaster pistol with a single charge.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd like to see some more elaborate quests that actually required some coordinated cooperation and gave special rewards.

JTL was a shot on the arm for architects. I have one factory making structure modules, another making walls, and a third making the final product full time. About to start making another run of sub-components for a new Heavy Ore Mining Inst. schem. I actually increased my prices for harvesters across the board.

I am behind on furniture as my furiniture vendor is right next to my SW vendors and is getting picked clean.

I'm in the same boat. I'm selling heavy mineral harvs faster than I can make them. Most of my time has been spent cranking out structural and wall modules and the occasional batch of OMUs. This profession is anything but dead.
