Ahazi server...

65k for medium houses (I'd prefer 75k at least cause you can sell a factory for 50k and a medium generic with twice the wall units is 65k -.-)

medium miners/factories that take 3 wall units-50k

larges- I hate selling them because they require so many identical parts (manufacturing mechs especially) so I dont really sell them...but if I did, I'd do it for like 120k

large generics- 160k (they almost always sell with little arguements)

small house- 10k or 9.5k

medium minerals/solar 15k

personal miners/ect- 1k

Generic PA hall- 500k (only made one or two...my first was for 450k)

some furniture gets pretty high up there (master items especially cause of the identical fabric...)

thats about it I guess

Hehe. So true.

As a Master Architect since beta, I've had plenty of time to experience the lameness of our profession.

Here's the rub: At Master especially, when you no longer get experience for anything you craft and people wanting to buy at half of what it costs to make, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to keep crafting and run the risk of critical failures. It is indeed much more profitable to craft yourself heavy harvesters and just sell the resources. Much, much more profitable.

I am also probably one of the very few Master Architects that refuses to craft a PA hall at all. I can proudly say that NONE of the PA halls you see on the server has been built by me.

As far as I'm concerned, if you want a small house for 5k or a medium for 20k or a heavy harvester for 50k, you can kiss my a-s-s or train Architect. I craft almost exclusively for myself now or for our village (no, not a PA). I sell structures only when I happen to have them in stock and only at full price. Other than that, take your 1.5cr per resource buying offer and find the nearest Droideka - it's reaction will be better than mine.

As a matter of fact, I'm a Master Architect that is basically out of the market so the rest of you will have to pick up the slack.

Right now, we still have everybody and their brother trying out the Architect profession. That's part of the reason there's such a glut in the market. That's also part of the reason Low Grade Ore sells so well . . .

Personally, I think playing an Architect is still fun. (I reached Master about a month after release).

However, I can see how it's not for everyone. Here are some things I can think of that make playing an Architect "suck":

1) Expecting (hoping) to sell everything you build shortly after you build it -- i.e. instant turnaround on product.

2) Expecting to make the most money/time of any 'profession'. After a point (specifically, after you have a 'cushioning bankroll'), money seems pretty worthless in this game.

3) Not being able to check harvesters regularly, and letting the fact that a harvester sits idle for a day upset you. See number 2.

To the original poster, I'd like to add two comments:

First, you can still sell your resources rather than building stuff, even as an Architect. Skill points become fairlyworthless, if you think that combat in SWG is silly.

Secondly, so you made 600K when you expect you may have made 400K. My question is, what do you have to spend that extra 200K on? Again, see number 2 above.

Glad you're happy you're no longer a Master Architect. I'm happy that I am. Is either of us 'right'?

Well seems we all have similar experiances with this proff... I personaly try and never take orders... i hate mining any materials and buy all my supplies ... I have set prices and i try to keep my vendor stocked with one of each stucture... I do not ever lowwer my prices and infact may increase them in some cases...

small houses 10k

med house 60k

large house 150k

mineral / moisture harv 14k

solar 16k

factories 45k

chem/gas/flora harvesters 45k

All heavey harvesters 150k

fusion 160k

all large houses 150k

PA 250k

This is working out jsut fine for me ... I tell peeps prices if they laugh i say np see ya... if they want it i send them to my vendor... and i off hunting working on my missions with my pet rancor...yes almost a master CH also...

Just broke 1.1 million in the bank and happy i do not have to run around and sell stuff.. if you want it now .. and willing to pay the price i ask .. you can have it ... if you want to haggle and bargen you can go find a newbie arch .. i really do not care...

And let me tell you ... I enjoy being an arch much more now that i play this way... I take no resorces to discount ... i do not take orders . I make al least one of every thing and just go about my normal day...

I reached Master arch in a month too an tried to sell stuff and fot a few orders an such along the way. I did missions and paid my dues. I must say arch isnt fun if u tryin to cut ur prices. With installations 4 and a few orders u wont have to worry about cash anymore anyway.

I love being arch an i help my friends an keep myself in harvs. I sell stuff every now an then but all i really need is a balance of 100k and im happy. My house is great Im nearly master pistoleer and I have a ball. This is a great profession, but be patient. Furniture has always been good to keep ur harvs running anyway so sell that. This is on bria tho so mabe different where u are.

I have decided that it's not worth my time makin anything for anyone unless I actually gt a fair gain over what they are gonna make in a week of using my product. Ill sell houses for reasonable prices as everyone needs a home. 10k for small yea 10k, 75-80k for medium and 140k for large. U payin for my time. Factorys I have rethought and are now 80k. Medium harvs 25k heavys 150k. PA hall well if u got a PA ill gladly make u a hall for 450k cause its not worth the effort.

LOL seems steep but really why should u break ur back so someone can sell spice or minerals for 10x what u are doin. Yea i know its all relative but now im sayin its all RELATIVE. take my business if u like ppl im stickin to it. I love my job and xp and cash arnt really that big a deal. Whatever creds lol

Have fun an do what makes u happy and dont turn away a profit for instant gratification ppl

Noobs go make small houses an try stay afloat. Make walls. Better for u xp and save for installations.

Have fun an like ur job

Well I too finally bit the bullet. I was building myself a medim generic when I critically failed on the final combine. No big deal, right? It was for myself anyway. Well I only had 10K ore left so I didn't have enough resources to build another one. That was yesterday. I got up today and couldn't remember whether generic mediums used 2 or 4 lots so I asked another architect. She said 2. I then asked how much she sold medium generic model 2s for andshe said usually 80K, butshe had 1 on her vendor for 65K. That was it for me. I bought the house fromher and in the process dropped master architect. She then asked me if I had any crap resources I was willing to sell. I said that I had 25K aluminum that I could get rid of. Normally I charge 3-4 cpu for resources, but because I got a good deal on the house I sold it to here for 2.5 cpu. So I got back 62500 of the 65000 credits I spent. Maybe one day I'll come back to architecture.

If your happy doing the architect thing then that's a great thing man, glad you are. I'm sure loads of other people are too. This post was mainly to those that ARE real fed up with it, you can move on.

As for what i'm spending my money on....

CRATES! Spices, Powerups, Stimpacks etc etc. they compliment my hunting and are good for helping other people out.

ARMOR! Got myself a half-descent set of composite.

TRAVEL! I probroubly goto 3 different planets a day hunting, working up my carbineer, scout and CH. It dont matter to me, i can do what I want with enough cash in the bank. Sure eventually i'll get fed up of it, maybe i'll go do armorsmith or bio-engineer or something later... and I can, because I have enough cash too.

Overall, i'm knocking it, if you enjoy then it's all good. I wasn't, but I am enjoying the game more now personally and who can knock that huh?

Good luck all'

Khaan
