Treo,

Thanks for being yet another person adding to the downfall of our profession. If you don't have something constructive to add to the discussion, why come here at all?

This is a tough business no doubt. But stick to your prices and get the word around. I can not make stuff fast enough to keep up with demand at just over 3 cpu. I am rich...hech no...I have some nice toys...buy what I want when I want and my bank account is always growing slowly unless I get carried away and give friends weapons/credits/etc.

Will this profession die? Who knows what will happen in the future. But if it does it does...if you are not having fun doing it...you really should try another profession that may be more rewarding...maybe something that could directly help you with what you like to do. If you hunt and can not find weapons that you like...take up weaponcrafting. But do it because you like it, not to get rich or you will get dissappointed...all professions are slowing a little. But with the new elite elites to come and maybe dev fixes/expansions to existing classes I have to think they will all become viable again. If not I my self will move to another class once architect dies completely.

Just have fun and tell people to spread the word the you want business. It really helps sales if you take care of your customers from day one...we can not afford to not be nice to good customers...ditch the whiners and make the good ones happy

Enjoy

I've thought about this and I think the problem lies withint the fact that the world is new.

Everyone is trying things out to see what suites them and that means a large percentage of the new players are opting for Architect. Basic economics supply/demand will make the market super saturated until those who don't want to deal with it anymore go away over a period of time.

Once the market matures the prices will stable out but for now it is a buyers market.

If you want to turn a profit now you are going to have to sell fast and cheap but if you want a fair market value you are going to have to hold onto your deeds and sell them over a long, long, long period of time. The only true fair prices will come on the big dollar items if you are one of the few that can handle the compitition right now. If not you will get weeded out from the frustration and move on to your combat profession, woundering why you ever thought crafting would be for you. This profession is not for the faint of heart not will it make you substantal gains in the short term. It's a labor of love, one that will reward you in the full scope of time (expansions anyone?).

Lets put it this way, I agree there is major imbalance in regard to structure pricing and resource pricing. Who cares why that is why cares what caused the problem. What you must focus on is the solution. The only way something like this can be solved is for all or the majority of Architects to band together and Sell their deeds at an aggred upon price..... Sure, there will still be a few out there that will undercut, but if the majority refuse to match their prices the customers will just need to come with us period. Sure the undercutter will still be able to sell things above us, but they will be so over loaded with requests they surely wont be able to fullfill all of them and people will start to wise up. This ofcourse is easier said then done considering the number of architects that currently exist but it is the only way.

That was rather retarded, Treo. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all, troll. The majority of architects don't just sell to their friends for one cred per resource. Guess you missed out on what this profession is about, huh?

4 creds a unit is a steal. I'm on Naboo, Starsider, if any other archs from there want to talk about prices, let's not undercut on the same planet, at least.

yea, its sad :/ I extract my own materials, and only buy resources in emergency situations...what really sucks is that I've been missing a lot for like 3 weeks -.- and my last ticket was deleted :/

Treo, thanks for the clarification. And for coming back and helping those around you.

I retract my earlier statement. Class act to come back and do that.

Thanks for restoring my faith <grin>

Thanks Ropock.

Just had one of those days.

I have to agree that the best thing to do is try and wait it out. It is goping to be tough on some, if not all. As things start to even out, meaning that fresh players arrive and the people get bored and change professions or leave, I think the prices will level out.

People have mentioned the items should decay over time. I agree and have a few more ideas. I do not know if these have been mentioned but.... As items decay, and architect can repair much like weapon repair. Also, what about adding an effectiveness of harvesting depending on the quality of materials?

Like I said probably already mentioned somewhere, but you all post like crazy!

I would love to hear any other ideas or get a link to previously posted ones.
