Thread: It is about time I shared... Here! Enjoy!
Also, let me know if there is anything that needs improvement.
The long answer is that...spreadsheets are awesome...sweet..you can do SO much with them..espcially if you have a knack for coding. It takes out a lot of reptiveness..it allows you to change forumulas and/or data w/o ruining your whole project.
In college, us mechanical engineers were actually REQUIRED to take a class, Excel for Engineers...lol..i have a book and evertying, devoteed entirely to excel and its applications towards mechanical engineering.
Anyone have some suggestions for improvement?
I'm not an expert in excel(never had a class in it), by any means. In fact, I had to re-learn a lot of the simple commands on the day I made it's interface. There was also a lot of trial and error in this process... but I did re-verify the results before I went live with it.(just to make sure I didn't screw up that part)
But yes, I'd say about two-thirds of the actual spreadsheet is hidden from view, and locked away. Namely all the calculation stuff, and subtotals.
In any case, I hope you guys are enjoying it... and remember... it does have that extra page that will give you accurate experimentation percentages for ANY(except DNA templates) item you can craft. And no, pre-combined sub components don't play a factor in experimentation... they are a straight modifier to your end results.
I'll start some brainstorming and see if I can crack the whole harvester "Base Extraction Rate" issue... but no guarantees. My time is being split between the game, job hunting and this spreadsheet. (anyone got a good paying job for me?)
Very nice! I will be handing this out to my fellow crafters in my PA!
Good work! And thanks!
You sir, are a saint among men.
Now its time I simply write my own up for something similiar but more universal!

You appear to be over your bandwidth. Anyone that downloaded it able to host it somewhere else?
Yeah, the site gets like that if more than 12 or so people try to download the file in any single hour... 3gb/month sounds good, but that's only 4mb/hr.
I'd like to thank MattDaComputerGuy for mirroring the files.
Now, a few people have wanted the tool to be a little more generic, and I'm working on that.
Expect to see the following enhancements in the near future:
Harvester Pages that automatically load schematic data, and attempt to guess the BER of your harvester.
The ability to add many more resources than currently available.
A Schematics entry page, that will let you put in your own schematic data.
An enhanced "Misc Item" Page that will (at your option) load in your schematic data.[If I can figure it out]
My goal is to make this thing easier to use, and less bulky. So please, keep that advice rolling in.
Just so ya know, a lot of people who mirror files for free plant viruses in em, but I don't do that because I know the pains of being over the bandwidth... You can get a free site at 0catch.com to mirror your giles too, just incase my mirror uses up all the bandwidth IT has too...
About the 4 MB/hour... That is very dumb! Not many people will go on at 4:00 am in the morning! Couldn't they stretch it out and give you a DAILY bandwidth?! Sigh... Some site hosters these days...
Here is a tip for lowering file size: Use WinZip to put the filez into a .zip format, this will make them have a lower file size, and reduce bandwidth. Also, all pictures should be converted to JPG...
People with WinZip on their computer (99% of all computer-owners) can easily "unzip" the file back into its original form in seconds after downloading the .zip file.
Hope my tips help, tty'all8ter!
