I am a bit torn on the decay question. If I was simply a resource hound, I would argue that I am paying MAINTENANCE on these things, why do they decay. I guess if decay were introduced I think it should be at a relatively slow rate like maybe 2 to 3 months before your harvesters/factories/houses whatever become affected to a point where performance is decreased (or maybe maintenance costs go up to the point that buying new items becomes the cost effective option).

I guess I am in the minority that I like the way the BER's are right now. People will still pay to get a slight edge. Take this for example:

This weekend I tried making heavy minerals for the first time, my first try was great ber 13, not quite so good on the second ber 12, the third was even worse ber 11. I decided to keep the 13 and the 12 for myself there is some great steel out there right now on Shadowfire, so these will come in handy. But what to do with that 11... I would be ripping someone off if I put this in my vendor for much more than a 10 BER med (35k is my price on those) so I put it up for sale at 45k thinking that in a week I will be reducing that 30k or even lower just to get rid of it (there is no way I am going to destroy it, thats way too much material)...

Wouldn't you know it by the next morning it was sold!!! I couldn't believe it, yes there are people out there willing to pay 2x the maintenance and power costs even for a 1BER edge...unbelievable.

I dont worry about a patch rendering a bunch of harvestors useless, I am more interested in the game long term. An easy to make Medium that out preforms and is more efficient than a heavy is just wrong.

Short term, nerf what they need to to make it right.

I still think they highest quality of one unit should not out preform the lowest quality of the next higher unit.

The thing is that people will pay double the amintenence for just 1 extra BER because of SPEED. These are people with HUGE resourcing businesses... People with a small mining businesses will get the best personals, they are also easy to plant. Meediums are most profitable, but just ONE BER will let the huge companies make more $... I personally like the Mediums, profitable, and fast enough for me...
