Catman,

Yeah in general for our stuff either quality doesn't matter or its easy to max quality. A lot of our game is about resource management since quantity is more of a challenge for us than quality.

Have you made some high quality crafting stations? Thats one item that it can be a challenge to max out the stats and they often have good demand. If you have a DE then you would be well setup to do so. You need a master artisan too.

Well thats NOT gonna happen for me! Hi, Je'cy...

Been considering taking one of my alts and doing architect....not sure tho. Also considering doing BE with my 2nd alt. I guess I need to do more reading and deciphering of what goes into what profession.

What do you mean don't be a stranger?? Your the one hopping servers.

I was thinking of using my respec on Lynae and picking up more of the BE, but then again, I'm not sure I want to mess with gathering so many resources. Sassi' is taking over Merchant, if I can get those blasted boxes to fill up faster. So was toying with the idea of Architect as well on Lynae. I dunno.

I love being an architect and as many have said above, for me it was and continues to be all about learning the ins-and-outs of the profession, and building up and maintaining a very successful business. The social interaction is fun, the work-related interaction is fun, resource collection and management is fun, and the daily sales mails and so much more are fun. True, we are limited in what we can experiment on, but strange as it may seem, I still enjoy reaching maximum BER and gettinghoppers as large as I possibly can. Experimenting on crafting stations was especially fun and challengingfor me as well. And although we are a bit limited by what we can craft, we are not limited by our imaginations and how we can use those items. For those that enjoy decorating, that's definitely a high for sure.

Anyway, bottom line is . . . the profession isnot a boring one. It justtakes a very special individual to truly understand and enjoy it.

Three cheersfor all of you that do!

Having played my m8s character a bit more; I'd have to agree with that It's certainly a very "arty" profession. Not for me really, I'm more your mechanic type

Best of luck to you all

I've been an architect for about two years and I will never give it up. In fact, it is my main character of a few accounts. What do I like about it? Every crafter in the game eventually has to talk to an arch for harvesters and factories. Most everyone wants/needs a house. I like running a business (and it is my Role Play vehicle as well). I like being at the front end of the value chain (harvesting). I mostly deal in houses and furniture (and not even doing the decorating as a service) and I make a nice amount. I'm not filthy rich like some crafters, but I make a good amount, enough for me to run everything and have enough left over to do what I want. People ask me why I keep doing it. I like it. I like filling orders for stuff people really want. I stay pretty busy doing it too. My business has it's ups and downs, most of my work is for custom orders that come and go, being at the right starport at the right time has paid off a few times too!

In short, architects are needed by most other characters, I find it an interesting business, and it pays the bills.

Cheers

I don't think being an architect is boring at all. I have been an architect for over 2 years. I truly love this profession and I'll be an architect till the day SOE shuts down the servers permanently. That's not to say this profession doesn't have its faults. Yes, it requires a huge amount of resources compared to other profession, yes, you must run harvesters nearly 24/7 in order to keep your vendors fully stocked. But if you think about it,most of theplayer owned structure that's on the ground were made by architects (with the exception of personal harvs and faction bases/turrets)... I agree withmostof your suggestions but I wont comment on those because this post was titled "Architect - Most Boring Profession?"..

Yes it is boring. BUT, I am one. I enjoy making houses and now recently decorating on the side. It is easier money, and with furniture and houses... i dont need 10-20-30 cpu resources. Just cheap grind stuff, or that which I mine myself. Along with everything you listed as possible ways to improve arch... we are hoping that one day all of that will be implemented.

One day.........

The starting of the business, working with personels at first, then mediums then finally you craft and use your OWN first heavy. Archy is one of the few profs where you get a great feel of advancement. You are not only grinding, but becoming better.

Social aspect is great, I have met more people and made more friends playing an Archy then other profs.

But a really cool part, is when you fly into a shuttle port of a town and realize, I Made That! That Medcenter, its mine. Oh sure, someone else is using it, and paid for it, but it is still mine. Until that City falls apart, or the game is shutdown, you know you made something that is used by hundreds of players, and you actually have a great impact on the game.

Also, the various Cities may have statues, and light poles, etc., but examine them, and see who made them. Our names will remain in the game and remembered long after those who gathered Krayt tissues or made that uber armor that will eventually decay into nothing.

Ya, it's part ego trip, but what other game out there allows a player to have such a major, although low profile, impact on the game?

All in all, I think the coolest prof. I started mine as an Alt account a year ago yesterday, and now everyone things its my main LOL, I play it alot more then my 20 month old combat toon.
