Yup, I get that at least once a day and it still makes me laugh every time.
I know for me, I dont make houses. I only make furniture and loot schem. My other 2 partners do the houses and extractors/factories. So I can see why they ask.
If they asked:
CAN you make a house, Yes I can.
DO you make houses? NO i dont.
Some jerkoff jedi pinwad named Wise Hero sends me a tell:
WH: Can I get a guild hall?
Me: I keep 5 of each in stock at all times. Here's my wp. (I e-mail wp)
WH: How much are they?
Me: They are up for 250k each. (I've sinced raised my price to 300k)
WH: I can get em for 100k.
Me: Wow, can you let me know where. (My mouth started watering at the prospect of buying at such a low price and reselling.)
WH: Well they try to charge more....but there's something called negotiating. (Conversation take a sharp turn south after that comment)
Me: Ahhh, well my price is my price. These take a lot of time and effortone of the components actually requires subcomponents ( the power core units). I want to have fun playing the game too. I'm not sure, but I think 250k is actually a good price compared to what others charge.
WH: Only an idiot charges so much that no one buys from him.
Me: So your calling me an idiot for charging 250k for a guild hall. I sell about 4-5 a week.
WH: Only stupid people would pay that much.
Me: So I'm an idiot and only stupid people buy from me?
WH: Your heard me.
Me: Wow, so the rumors are true...you are a complete arsehole. You now have the distinct privalege of being the first and only person on my ignore list.
WH: Your loss. I'm a very powerful and wealthy player with great influence. You are only hurting yourself.
Me: Come to my city and you'll be banned as well, jackoff.

Person: What do Architects do?
That conversation degraded into 10 minutes of explaining crafting, factories, factory runs, and why this Riflemen probably could not use a factory and it would be a waste of their money and lots.
But I did make a friend
And it reminded me about the lousey game instructions included with the CD's and how this web site is a MUST to play this game.

ME: Where are you going to place the house? (A question I ask everyone who buys a house from me)
THEM: On Tatooine
ME: You cant place a Naboo House on Tat, only Tat or Generic House.
THEM: Yes I can!
ME: No you cant.
THEM: Yes I can!
ME: No you cant, only Tat or Generic House can be placed on Tatooine.
THEM: Yes I can, I've done it before!
ME: OK. (Made him the house)
1 or 2 Hours later.
THEM: I want my money back!
ME: Why?
THEM: I cant place my house, there must be something wrong with it!
ME: No there isn't, I told you only Tat or Generic House can be placed on Tatooine.
THEM: I want my money back!
ME: I can make you a Tat or Generic House for a discounted price. (Trying to be nice about it)
THEM: No, I want my money back!
ME: Sorry, its not going to happen.
THEM: @$%&# you then, I'm going to report you.
ME: Have a nice day! (Took a screen shot if the conversation just in case)
Havent heard from him since.
I get into this type of conversation least 2-3 times a week.

Yes, but if they are only presented with two choices, they can still make a choice, and that's really all they want...to be able to choose. Why let them set their heart on something they can't use? I've worked in retail, and I tell you, even if there are 50 things on the wall, and you KNOW that only 2 of those will work for the person, only give them those options. If they insist on something else that will not work for them, explain that it won't work and you can't in good conscience sell it to them.
I am returning to the Architect proffesion, after about a year! Jedi took over

My favourites where when i used to do my alll time fav thing of decorating peoples houses....
"Can you decorate my house?"
"Hello, Sure! But it will cost you for the items i craft"
"Thatsok ... I have alot here already"
" I sometimes charge a labour fee, to ensure i do a good job "
"Hrm, how much? i only have 5 million"
"No more than 200k! and thats a guild hall!"
... After much wow your cheap talk ...
... I arrive at his house with my reosurces just incase You know some people!!!

I went in and noticed it was empty,i asked what about the furniture he already had?
"its in my other house... you can build it right?"
"then i told him sure, but you must pay some fee for the furniture i build!" at this point i think oh dear...
"so.. i have 10k in total now, that shouldcover it right?
" i then walked out the door of his guild hall laughin... after he told me he had to buy a guild hall for 1 million! dont ask where his other 4 mil went... musta been new to game, or an alt due to his No badges Aquired =/
