Aftter realizing that the craft tools needed at least on amazing to hit 15 i made sure to get at least one amazing in the effectivness lines of each components. Yet i was only able to hit 44.89 so far.Should i have the artisan or architect buff while doing this?I had the artisan buff for my first round of tests.
Artisan buff. 44.89 is very nice btw. I'm pretty sure I was going to push out 44.7 prior to the publish. I had like 44.683933. I was hoping a new 1000 OQ ore would push me to it. I guess we'll have to see how I do after I get a run of these MSS done. Btw, did you have to get an amazing during the final assembly? I'm concerned about that.
This is one of the weekend projects. Initial tests incidicate that I'm gonna be pretty darn close, if not make it. We'll see.
Pawlin is right, subcomponents experimenting at 100% changes everything.

You can get subcomponents to 100%?

You can make the crafting tools to 15.0 yes, but can you make a repair tool to 100.0?
Same test with repair tool using my 992 cond copper and 1% buff....
All great success gives 99% and 99.8812 rating
Several Great Successes and an Amazing Success gives 99% and 99.99999
So I think the max on a repair tool is probably 99.99999. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and they had 100.0 tools from crafting day.
You could always get a 15.0 tool with 1000 con copper. Do you only have 10 points? I don't remember if an amazing was needed or not, though they can affect a few decimal places on a few items, not others.
Repair tools could only be taken to 100.0 on super tuesday. Otherwise it was always 99.9.
My control units from super tuesday were 100% and rated quality of 5. Mine yesterday with the buff were 99% and rated of 4. My guess is they are 99.9%. When I go to make the stations later I'll use some 5 rated CUs and see the exact difference on the value.
I am guessing the electronics are using the same subroutine for experimentation as the repair tools. Stations probably use the same subroutine as crafting tools. Although at one time the repair tools use to take electronic subcomponents, much like crafting stations. Not sure what that means.

a 100% control unit, by itself, doesn't improve the quality all that much in some instances. I have some +5 quality CU's left over from that crafting tuesday. I made 2 stations, one using them, and the other using freshly crafted parts with the artisan buff. The station I made using the +5 quality CU came out to +44.687. The station I made using all new, hand made, components, came out to +44.683.
As near as I can figure, the quality of the resoruces used in the components matter for MORE than just compenent assembly and experimentation. My 100% CU's are made with inferiorer resources than what I'm using for the new stuff, which is the only thing I can think of why the results would be so similar. (everytime my resources improve, the gap between the +5 schematic stations and the completely hand made stations decreases).
What are the stats of the resources you guys are using for these +44.8 stations?
I've got 1000cd copper, 975 oq/cd copper, 1000oq iron, 992oq polymer, 999oq ore and inert gas, and 857/937 oq/cd steel. I used a DE to get new 99% DSC schems...
I know I need bettery polymer and better oq/cd steel, but as far as I know, I've got the best available on my server.

That OQ 857/ CD 937 steel might not be the best on your server for your MSS. Thats probably a JTL steel. For JTL steel the CD isn't capped. So you've got 857/1000 * 66% + 937 / 1000 * 33% = 874
A duralloy steel of OQ 970 and CD 600 would be better. Cause the cond is capped for duralloy so it is divided by the cap (650 I think) rather than 1000 so, that would give ya 970 / 1000 *66% + 600/650 * 33% = 944
I tested with a OQ 820 / Cd 943 JTL steel versus a OQ 981 / Cd 625 duralloy steel on my server and the duralloy was noticably better. If it was straight points 66%/33% then the JTL would be best but it wasn't.
