Thread: 13 BER = 9?%
Basically, you want the final assembly to have very high HR, SR, UT stats. You have good steel, metal, and ore that all have that over 900. Now you need to add some chemical to the mix.
*IF* that chemical has stats *higher* than your steel, metal, and ore - then it *can* improve your scores. But in a way the better your minerals are, the less likely that your chemical will beat them (thus making that chemical more rare to find and perhaps pricier). So a chemical with a LOWER UT than your minerals will pull your score down - which you don't want.
If you use lube oil, which has *nothing* for those stats, then it essentially isn't averaged in at all. So it won't make the score higher - but it won't pull it down either.
Given that, many people find it easier to just stock up on big stacks of cheap cruddy lube oil to use and just ignore trying to find a chemical with high stats for what we need.
kinda bummed out. i made a Heavy Mining with good materials, got a 88& experimentation, supposedly a 12 extract, but when I went to use it the actual extract rate was guess........6% !!!!!! What!!!!!
Let's just say throwing things across the room and being a lil ticked were half of the ways I felt with all I put into it. lol oh well.
You made an ore mining unit (with a schematic) of *what* quality? (percentage)
Then you used 2 of those ore mining units, along with other stuff, to make a final assembly of a heavy mineral harvester. What quality of experimention did you get on the final assembly? What was the final labeled BER on the heavy mineral harvester?
Never mind. i just caught on. The final labeled BER was 12 but when I put this Harvestor on a resource of only 41% my actual rate was like 4 - 6%. Though on the right side it says 12. But when I was fooling around and switched the resource to an 87% material my actual rate number went up to about 10.7 I believe.
So now, finaly, I think I'm catching on here as to what yer saying.
Sorry, I'm a new here in the land of architechture.
My ore mining units are 6 rate, experimented to 95 or 96% when I ran off a factory run. With experimentation on efficiency when assembling the deed I've hit from 86-92% on a various times, (excepting faliures of course) but I've never gotten BER 13. Like I said I can make 10 BER Mediums like they're going out of style, but 13 on heavy's just never happens for me. I've been using Steel with UT, SR, HR all well over 900 for everything I make.
I haven't been making any lately anyway, so I'm not all that concerned, I just was curious what the number was that needed to be reached.
