I think there will be many many city halls sold. Reason being you get to control the area around your Hall.

Who wouldn't want to control if harvesters go in their front doorstep or not? It might be expensive but theres enough credits floating around that 1M for a hall wouldn't be too much of a burden. 800k i think is 10per.

my favorite thing no one has even mentioned yet? everyone wants to block building in their city limits.... heavy harvesters require flat land to build as do city structures.... so.... as the planet fills up, think about how hard its going to be to place harvesters.

its bad enough now when you find a decent spot.... you have to hope and pray its not acres of harvesters already there.... now 1000's of km's of land are going to be blocked by cities... so, that 70% ore spot finally popped yay!!!! oh, its in the city limits so now i can't get to it til its back down in the 50's again........ if i'm lucky.

I think 5cpu is a fair price to charge on any structure, considering they do not decay and have to be replaced, as least not yet neways (hint hint to the devs)

How come people still think the cost of resources is less than 1cpu if they harvest their own?

So your saying your 'time' to find the spots, place the harvesters, gather the resources, pickup the harvesters when the spot runs dry is worthless? That's sadbecausemy time isn't.

It takes a fair amount of time to run even a small 20-25 harvester operation. Consider next time you think your resources cost you less than 1cpu to gather.

Why figure out pricing? people can't even afford to pay good prices on small houses... Oh wait that is because <edit> wannabe architcyts out there sell our great, non decaying items for 1cpu. Like any one out there is going to pay good prices for city items, I think not, they will whine about the price because no body realizes how much work it actually takes and they will keep looking until they do find some guy who only raised one tree up so he could undercut our prices by 75%. NO thanks city for my guild only thanks.

/shrug

i dont harvest my own stuff, i buy all my own materials and 3cpu is a very decent profit and still some of the cheapest prices on my server.

and you're right most people who are buying are paying 3-5cpu ... or if they harvest their stuff them selves they probly arent counting their time in to the cost of the product.

I got lucky, i met a good group of people early in my architect career and they keep my prices very afordable, hell i started at 3cpu, and as time goes buy my costs have gone down, which allows me to reduce my prices to the customer.

just because some other poor shmuck isnt smart enough to find my suppliers or their vendors doesnt mean i should raise my prices. it means they will get frustrated and go out of business probly change professoins all to gether simpley because they cant compete and still profit. That's not wrong its business. eventually there will be fewer aritects on the server and i dont see that as a bad thing.

sure any dork can skill up one tree and bulid a city, but it will cost him more than it will cost his pa to just buy the city from me. and most people know that already. which is why i'm hella busy and need apprentices. of course they seem to have dropped off the face of the earth so i dont see the profession being saturated by idiots as much as before.
