Thread: Architect Issues Designer responses
How often are we supposed to get the designer responses?
I know the correspondant sends reports weekly, however how often are we SUPPOSED to get updated?
About decay :
Seeing building decaying is a good thing.
How to implement this ?
- 24 hours before a structure decay, send a mail "Your building is going to decay in 24 hours. An architect is required in order to analyse the situation".
- Once the novice architect (or building & installation 1 min) is in front of the house : radial. From menu, seen only by architect -> Analyse structure -> mail sent to owner + architect : You need to replace 1 wall module in your structure in order to be able to still use it.
- Once built, deposit element (from either architect or owner). No failure possible.
The decay rate can be modified by some regular maintenance : architects can (in one of their line) gain a schematic, like lubrificating oil
Those charges are provided to the building, preventing decay. A bit like droid bateries.
So to sumarize, and in order to make all of this work :
New schematic : small Building Cleaner
Ressources : 10 oil5 fiberplast
Sell price (info) :75 credits
Use of a small building cleaner reduce the rate at which your building decays. A high efficiency delays the decay rate too.
New schematic :medium Building Cleaner
Ressources : 15 oil10 fiberplast
Sell price (info) :100 credits
same than sbc
New schematic :large Building Cleaner
Ressources : 20 oil 15 fiberplast
Sell price (info) :140 credits
same than sbc
A building should decay without proper maintenance in 2 days.
Each 10% efficiency in the building cleaner adds 1 day. So a 100% adds 10 days of good maintenance.
Chances to have pbms in your house are : decay + 1%, rolled each day.
If my building is new. I've got 1% of chances to have a mail requiring an architect to be there.
Well... this is the idea ![]()
I would like to see house maintenance replaced by decay which only Architects could fix. This would allow us to actually make money.
I would also like to see more experimentation points added to our profession, and for the experimentation to actually make a difference in the final product.
And yes, I would really like to take part in the Galactic Civil War without having to gain any battle skills.
I would like to see the rebel and imperial bases that are given as faction perks to require components from an architect or urban planner. I.e. you get permission to build your base but need an architect to supply the required buildings.
This way we get to build structures that players destroy
, hence repeat business.
Also experimentation on durability of the structures should affect the amount of damage they can take.
Weapons, armour, robots etc.. decay or are destroyed in combat, as a pure architect I would like to make a quick buck out of this war as well ![]()
I know this isnt gonna follow the current thread, but I am an architect. I have Furniture 1, Construction 1, Installations 2, and Buildings 2. Now for the life of me I cant build a medium house, and I am pretty upset. I have failed on 3 medium houses in a row, now as I see it-thats 165k down the drain in sales. I am getting really upset with the architect class and I am gonna drop it. I make more money selling furniture then medium houses.
Now it takes me approximately 3-4 days to get all the resources needed to make a medium house and then it fails??? I am better off selling the resources for 1per--at least that way I make some money.

There are several things you can do the very first thing I would suggest is check the resources you are using. Did these fails occur while using the same pool of resources?
On thedeed build (not the parts although this helps for any build)make sure that the resources for it have over 600 Decay and about that if not higher in Unit Toughness.
Second check your tools make sure they are at least in the + catagory in examine. Really good ones are +14 something. Also do the same for the station you are standing in front of. Public ones have no rating.
Third try not to craft when it's laggy.
Fourth use multiple tools because even though the fails can be random using the same tool over and over increases your chances of getting one.
Fifth take a deep breath and then scream just let it all out and if you want to contact me in game Rov if you are on Kettemoor and KAILITH on ICQ if you arent. Hope this helps. Crits just make you feel bad plus all the wasted resources. Take a day off or two and change up your resources and tools and see if that helps ![]()
That was a sweet response to what we all know is true frustration. Wow. I think if I failed three mediums in a row, I wouldnt have a monitor to type this on...
I built the best tools I could as soon as I could, so I dont have huge failures, still..they happen. Nice response Rov.
I personally am not an architect but i feel for most of you here, id love to see you guys having more items to craft . I got a few suggestions that might improve this.
I Would strongly suggest for architects to add new items once a month to add vareity in the furniture, why not add some more decorative objects such as:
1. Paintings/Banners (Everyone would love to have different kind of paintings in their homes to add a style)
2. Neon Lights (Something a bit more futuristic perhaps?? - add some touch into the lightning effects, give them choices to add different kind of bulbs neon colors)
3, New kind of plants ( maybe add more touch into a tropical kind of plant a bigger variety would be nice here)
4. Bar counters? Stools? (For home bars? or maybe players wanting to build their own cantinas?)
5. Real working chests? (Bigger containers able to take 100 items?)
6. More couches? /color variation?(maybe the ability to change colors over items , a black couch would be nice! ![]()
7. Misc items to be able to drop em on tables? (candelabras? etc...)
8. Secure lock data terminals (to be able to lock certain rooms from unwanted visitors)
9. Dual mining harvestors (able to harvest 2 kind of minerals/chemical or whatever at the same time Divided by 2)
I have a ton of ideas here, but i think there's much home for improvement over the Master architect area. There's a problem here where we are at a point where everyone has their house/furniture etc.. and architects are going down the drain since there isnt much for them to offer.
Thanks for reading,
Sincerely,

are harvestors still bugged?
cuz i just went into the game and made one no problem.
but the power core thing is pissing me off to no end.

harvestor mechanism i ment... sorry if theres confusion.
Ok. Top 20 problems I see with the archi class.
1. Fix the lights. We can master space travel but still have to light our houses with burning wood. Stupid.
2. Increase whats needed for lights, make torches NOT require an electronics GP module. What is electronic about a piece of burning wood and a rag soaked in oil?
3. a /raise up or down command is needed. I would love to put a desk lamp on a desk, rather then drop it on the stairs and play air hokey with it for 20 mins.
4. (personal beef) Master Architect furniture is too common. Its used as patio furniture in Kerens cantina! That makes me feel so special. Please remove the master furniture from places like that.
5. FIx the model of the master archi armoir. How hard can this fix be for gods sake?!
6. Please dear god add some artwork of some kind. anything at this point..
7. Fix the factory issue. Its only been a few weeks..Maybe if you fired the person responsible for it it would put the fear of god in the rest.
8. Furniture decay.. put this in please. Maybe tie it to how often its used. I duuno. Dont care really either..but it would be nice to have something called a "repeat customer"..
9. Add more structures please. Yes we all live in a house, but to be very honest its few and far between that I go to someones house to buy food. Would it be that hard to put in a shop model or something? A big room with counter.
10. Why, if i cant shoot off my balcony, can i not put some furniture on it?
11. Back doors on Large houses. Good idea. I think only one exit is a fire hazard anyway.. Especially since we cant see out of or open our windows.
12. Lots. Can anyone explain to me how a small house and a medium sized house take up the same amount of space? What kind of math are you guys using?
14. Amount of allowable items in houses needs to be raised. Or give us the ability to make a storage building of some sort.
15. We need more and better furniture items. Maybe a stage for bands. Maybe some apliances. Podiums would be nice too. And last i checked there WAS more then one kind of tree in the universe. There is more to life then sitting folks.
16. Allow chests to store items and have those items NOT count towards the structures item count. No containers in the chests either.
17. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release a definitive list of EXACTLY what each experimentation value and what each modifier to an item DOES! Ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers.
18. Fix the exploding leaf bug. Not an archi problem but been around since beta and its time to fix this for gods sake. If you are incapable of fixing it, remove the algoriythm for it from the game till you can. See my example about firing those responsible.
19. Stop fixing exploits that only certain people can do until you get the problems that effect each one of your paying customers straightened out. Getting really sick of seeing "this type of mission was nerfed cause some sneaky SOB made alot of money" while I am picking up my factory every time i want to use it or stuck in limbo for 10 minutes waiting for leaves to fall. Prioritize. When everything works, then you can start balancing stuff.
20. Please make our factory smaller or make it take up 1 unit of aloted land space. It only makes a little deed that is 1 foot to a side if you drop it in your house. Our class requires the most resources of any other to build something, yet we are delegated to having the least lots for our harvs due to factory size. Not fair and not well thought out.
Thats it. Enough of my ranting. Maybe some dev on his coffee break will see this and go wow what a moron, and tell his other dev buddies about it so they will read it and say wow what a moron, but maybe they will fix one of the issues. And yeah other classes need alot more work then us, but hey I aint browsing thier forum right now.
