Thread: Why is Corellian architecture so blah?
Well the main forums had on interest in this topic lol so I come here with the question.
I am jealous of Naboo and Tatooine housing, but I have no intention of moving there. Has anyone heard anything on Corellian housing changing? Bugs the hell out of me that a Corellian home pretty much = a generic home, limited in space and style.
Mediums are a prime example of this.
Heh please correct me if I'm wrong.
becuase generic and corillians are there for efecency, not for looks.
and an't nothin' that complaining about it now is going to fix.
want your house to look good, come to naboo.
Before buying a house I asked an architect to show me some examples of Corellia houses since I'd seen nothing on Corellia that looked any different from generic houses I'd seen on Tatooine. It turns out that's just the way it is.
Oh, and is it just my imagination, or are the large Corellia and/or Generic floorplans REALLY confusing?
yes i agree with you too.
i used to live on tatooine but after i had a problem with destroying my house i decided to get money together and move to corellia to be near my PA hall, so i went to dathomir and did 10k missions solo for a day or 2 and got enough money for my house. the person i was buying my house from lives in Mos Quito Hills and was offline when i got enough money for it. so i walked around Mos Quito Hills for a while and went in all the houses i could. then i came across a large generic style house. i went in and explored and when i finally got my house deed went to corellia and set it up i noticed something was very familar,
IT WAS THE SAME DANG THING!!!
I keep wanting to say "if they'd put the same effort into Corellia houses as they did into Naboo houses..." but that implies they put any effort into Corellia houses, which they didn't, since they're just generic houses. It really looks like the art department just ran out of time to design houses or something, and I so hope they make fixing this a priority, because I'm feeling awfully shafted.

Agree,
Corellian Homes were the last to be designed.

Yup. They're a "Friday, 4:30pm" job.
I can't remember if it was in an X-Wing series book or in "I, Jedi", but Corran Horn visits his grandpa on Corellia and I believe there is some insight as to what the buildings looked like.
From my own impressions of Corellia, from what I've read, the architecture and designs are mostly "blah" and utilitarian, not fancy or impressive. The owner may want to modify the design after purchase, as seen in ships, but the ships themselves lack style. Walking through a Coronet, it does feel like the proper atmosphere for a Corellian city.
I don't think they will change the look of the current Corellian buildable houses. To do that, they would have to replace all the pre-existing buildings on Corellia, and that may be more effort then it's worth. If the Generic houses were changed to be more "blah", if that's at all possible, there might be less opposition to the Corellia style houses.
Something was really left out of the corellia and generic houses. First the 2 mediums are at maximum half the size of a medium tat or naboo house. That is a huge issue. No upstairs, no balcony, no basement and the other 2 have all 3. Similar thing on the large. No balcony whatsoever on the corellia or generics. At least there is a stairs in them but still really horrible compared to the naboo and tat.
I can accept the larges. Especially the generic. However there is no reason for the mediums. They are basically 2 smalls shoved together. No extra design went into them.
