Thread: Holo Maintenance Bug SOLVED!
Well, part of it anyway. You guyshave aproblem with the difference between positive and negative numbers.
I was just now at my harvester, I needed 2640 to hit 3k because I always keep 3k in the mediums (it's the cost to redeed, ergo the minimum I'll ever need in it is 3k if I have the money). So I put in exactly 2640, my harvester was working before I did this andand BAM, the ground shakes, andthe harvesterstops! I look and I am at 2250, which is 2640 MINUS 360 minus 30 (I figure I just got charged the latest blip inupkeep). This is a medium mineral harvester.
In other words, the$%&@^ program deducted my existing upkeep poolfrom my newly deposited upkeep!
I had just come from two harvesters that were alsopaid up to3k yesterday,. they use 1440/day, and they were down 1200!
FWIW the other three, which were also paid up to exactly 3k as of yesterday evening, were at -360.
So I still think it's a problem of the Devs not knowing positive from negative, but it's also not the whole solution.
Two problems are evidently occurring.
1) Double maintenance happens at times - for unknown reasons.
2) Payments to maintenance are bugged at certain times - perhaps at the exact time that maintenance is subtracted from the structure? Never has happened to me yet, but I keep watching for this. That is why I think it might be kinda rare, maybe only happening at just the right moment.
what's your bank acount say?
i'm thinking that when you/i pay we get hit with a role back for the time...
maybe you have less cash than i, but i seriously can't tell if i've lost/gainedharvester feesfrom last night t'll the next day.
"2. Whenever a harvesters goes below 100%, the bug starts."
I'm pretty sure they are supposed to cost more to repair than maintain. If something costs 1500 a day to maintain. I believe it is supposed to cost you more than 1500 after a day is up when it started at 0.
Something I don't see being mentioned at all is the Maintenence problems that Harvesters get sometimes that IS intended. Occassionally, I will go to a set of three harvesters that had the exact same power/maintenence yesterday. Two out of three will be working but that one harvester has maintenence missing from it and it's below 100%. I go to turn the harvester on before looking at the status (thinking that I've forgetton to turn it on the night before) and I get a "Maintenence Failure Detection: This item must be repaired" or something similar. So basically every now and then you'll get a busted harvester that needs to have it's "error" fixed which costs more, therefor draining the current maintenence pool when it breaks.
Could this be the "bug" everyone thinks they have?
This bug is starting to get me sad
Today and yesterday some of my harvesters have been broken during the night (all had the same amount of money so it means that some of them got more money than others). I have spent 20.000cr repairing them=40.000 in two days without getting any resource from the broken harvesters. I won't be able to handle this situation for a long time.
Just to throw my data about harvester maintenance in...
I'd never done this test before I got efficiency 4, so I don't know what the normal results of this would be... but my costs are SUPPOSED to be reduced 20%.
This scenario was on a Solar gen, which has a maint cost of 30, or 60/hour, normally. For me, it has a maint cost of 24, or 48 per hour.
At 10PM Monday night I raised the maint pool to 3030.
Checking at 8pm Tuesday night (exactly 22 hours later) the maint pool was down to 1740.
That means in 22 hours, the harvester used 1290 credits... which comes out to 58.64 credits per hour (because the status window only updates about every half hour, I figure this odd number is potentially a result of that. While it doesn't update maint, it DOES update power, so I don't know if maintenance is pulled out in little amounts or if the full maint cost is deducted every 30 minutes). Anyway, that is 29.32 credits per half hour (the maint cost standard), which is awfully close to the NORMAL 30 cred maint cost, and not the 24 cred maint cost I'm SUPPOSED to have.
Since I didn't do this test before efficiency 4, I'm not sure if maintenance is working as intended and eff 4 is broken and doing nothing (or maybe doing 2% instead of 20%), OR if maintenance is in general higher than it is supposed to be, and I'm getting 20% off the higher number (meaning the actual maintenance charge WOULD have been 36.65 for most people, assuming I got 20% off.
