Thread: 8k for a medium house! Holocrons and the State of Things

So there I was checking my harvesters and I haven't gotten much business in months, only about 1 order a week (especially since I raised my prices to something decent), and I recieve a tell asking if I would possibly sell a Medium House for 8k. I was just astounded that any architect was going to sell a house for 8k. He asked me then how much I was selling a medium house for. When I told him that 80k was my price for a medium he seemed shocked.

Perhaps it is my prices or these daily Holocron Architects (2 in my guild now I got working for me ) But have prices really dropped that much?!

There is another point of view however.

This weekend I sold 3 large houses for 120k each and 2 mediums for 55k each.

Not counting my extractor sales that was a total sales of 470k, for resources that I pulled out of the ground for less than a half a cr a unit. If I includethe 3 Mineral extractors I sold for 90 k each and a couple of factories at 35k sales were overwell over three quarters of a million cr.

You can easily price yourself right outof the market, but that is just my opinion. Never listen to another arhitect when it comes to prices, use the prices that work for you.

I was asked to trade in a medium house and 11k for a large house. He somehow thought that I was getting a profit from this deal......

Yeah, personally I dont do trade in's anymore, unless I am specifically in the market for what they are trading in. I tell them "At price I would buy it foryou would be better off selling it yourself."

I am tempted to put that into a macro, I have to say it often enough.

I don't make mediums any more. I buy them from people whenever I see them going for 40k or less and then I stick them on my vendor for 55k. May take anywhere from 1-3 weeks to sell, but when it does it was pretty easy profit and one less lowball deal to influence the mind set of our consumers.

Daylin your math is off. There is no way you are pulling resources at less than .5 credit per unit. You have to add in downtime for when resources rollover as well as the cost of redeeding and the time spent surveying.

Not everyone has the time to babysit their harvesters 24/7 and make sure they are running.

I've bought them for 37k to 45k.

80k seems a bit high, but if you can get it then more power to you.

At 8k I'm sure he was talking about a small house.

That would be like you paying someone 25k to use your product. LMAO

Well a medium takes about 20k resources(been a while since I made one so might be a few k off). Anyone with some survey skills can plop down a harvestor and get a minimum of 3cpu for stuff they mine. So that makes the house 60k right there. That is the main reason why I stopped selling houses. Heavy harvs still are at a point that I can still make more money making a item and not selling the resources.

BTW this doesn't take into account the fact that ore is harder to mine than anything else. 4cpu for ore is about the same as 3cpu for anything else.

to original poster:

no your price is totally fine, just cause some %&/% are playing also wannabe architect and ruin prices should not mean that u should get infected by them.

80k for a medium is even under 4cr/unit which is way to low compared to other crafters, but for us seems reasonable price, everything under that is silly pricing and not a real wiin, since u could sell the pure resources for more, so even mr wallmart, ehem i mean daryl, cant calculate. sure he makes a win but he could do way better with sellign resources, all hes doing is ruin the prices. but we talked to often here about logics and thats why i wont reply anymore to him, since he never get the real math on it.

the point is if u can get more cash for same resourceswhen u purely selling them insteqad of put into a structure and sell lower per unit, then you make a loss. thats a fact, no matter if u in calculation still make profit. my harvesters dont care if i get uber steel which i can sell for 6/unit or low ore for walls where we get 3 to 4cr/unit. but result would be a loss if i seel to low.

pls daryl dont even answer to this, since i know your statement from many other endless discussion posts, and i simply disagree with you. you sure can think whichway you want and its your right, so pls do thatand do whatworks for you but dont tell us wrong calculations please.

Actually my current cost of pulling resources is less than .3 per unit not including overhead, I have the advantage of pull rates of 10 per harvestor and asa merchant my Pay mantenance is lowered. I also happen to be sitting on an 85% radioactives spot with a PE of 994 ( was happy to find that ). Overhead of re-deeding and such has been vastly reduced by my re-arranging how I use my extractors, if I include the overhead ( redeeding, shuttle tickets and factory andstoragecosts ) I am still pulling resources at less than .5 a unit.

My math is correct.

If it was not I would be broke, but my bank account is now over 2 million and rising swiftly. You can argue with my math all you like, I dont really care, but you cannot argue with the fact that I am making money, and very quickly using my price schedule.

p.s. You cannot sell bulk resources on my planet/server for 3cr a unit. That is a fantasy, there is no hard price for resources.

I might be able to make more money selling resources, but fast money is not my goal. My goal is to sucuessfully work the architect market in Buildings and instalations with a little furnature on the side. This is a chalanging goal is architect is a popular profesion and it is a dying market.

I could make more money buy dumping architect all together, and going weaponsmith. But I am not interested in that either.

So far I am doing very well againt the goals I set formyself.

Here on Intrepid, Resources like Steel and Low Grade Ore rarely appear for 3cred/unit. While I understand you may pull at cheaper than 1cred/unit and make 2cred/unit profit, why would you when you can simply sell the raw resources for less work and no risk of critical failure? If you do, then you are essentiallyworking for nothing, your labor is worth nothing to you. This might be what youwant to dothough, being helpful and offering prices as a lower pricehelps you feel good about yourself and that is why you play this game: to have fun. Bully foryou. But it also means you are being used. You are being paid for the worth of your resources as opposed the worth of your profession. Doctors and Architects in real life are widely respected because of the time and effort that they have put into their ken.

Its your choice.

I don't know why you guys keep feeding the Architect Troll , He does not add into his cost his time , so that means its wroth nothing ...He doesnt put into his calculations critical fails , which mean he just macro's the last combine ...

he has 2 million in credits woopty f8cking do , that was my one month goal that has come and gone ... Now working on 8 million have some of the best crafters in the game , 6 million in ore and another 4-5 million in premade generators/power cores and walls ...Sure I have a few accounts , but I sell me wares for no less that 4-5 credits ...and they sell very well

Like this week made 4 fusion reactors 16kg/h not the best , but 3 kg/h better than the old ones , threw them on my vendor for 160k each , all sold with-in the week ...60k medium harvs at 7kg/h I cant even keep them in stock anymore ...

Your business plan Dayln only hurts you and the people in your field .. The structures are pretty much capped and will end sooner or later , by taking less money per structure , you are screwing yourself and your peers out of money ..
