Thread: Skill tape question
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a skill tape that will allow you to place more vendors? If so, does anyone know if they actually work?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there are no merchant based skill tapes though we have tossed around a few here as suggestions.
ive gottena couple that were food experimentation or food assembly. But no, i havnt seen any merchant related ones.

We talked about some ideas before but merchant doesn't lend itself well to skill tapes. All of our skills are based on vendors. Additional vendors isn't going to happen via skill tape if at all. It is set at 6 and adding one would be a major production.
The best we could come up with would be a skill tape that gave you more of a discount on the bazaar (if you are wearing your merchant spankies you get anothe 5 credits off the bazaar fees) or maybe if you give your merchant a brand new pair of striped pants with a effiency skill tape on them the vendor costs less? I don't know of much else you could do with them.
[Note all of those examples are ficitional as far as I know there are NO merchant skill tapes of any kind]

I once had in my posession a "Business Acumen: 1" Skill Tape. No idea what that refers to, but it sounds merchant related. Probably something left over from beta or somesuch.
I wonder what it did..that does sound like a merchant skill tape though I suppose it could be smuggler..
I did my forum searchs, and still haven't found what Im looking for.
Skill tapesand Human Crafters, I know Zabraks can get +2 additional experimentatio boxes when they get +20 experimentation points, but what about Humans? Are they capped at +1 box or can they get a 2nd box with enough + skill tapes?
Thanks for your time and answers
I have heard some different stories on these skill tapes. Before I actually put them in anything, I want to find out what to do before I screw them up.
Do I need to put one tape each into a seperate piece of clothing to get them all to stack and give me the bonus? Or can I put them all in one piece of clothing that has 4 sockets?
If I have both Artisan Experimentation and Droid Customization tapes, can I put one of each in each piece of clothing, or do I need to make two seperate clothing sets to get the bonuses?
I never used these before.

A couple of issues with both skill enhancing attachment.
1) Skill attachments with more than one listing, such as +1 Droid Experimention and +1 Survey, will some times not attach to the article correctly. On many occasions, only one of the listed items will attach themselves to theclothing or armor. It is suggested thatattachments with multiplelistings either be used withcaution, or be held on to until this issue is fixed.
2) Placing more than one attachment with the sameskill bonus into the same item is not advised. Currently, the bonuses do not stack on the same item and the bonus applied will only be from the that of the highest skill modifer (Ie +1 Droid Experimentation and +2Droid Experimentationtapes in the sameshirt will only result in in a +2 bonus, not a +3)
3)SocketedArmorcurrently only allows for one skill enhancement. No matterhow many sockets a piece of armor states that it has, only one Skill Enhancementcan be attached at a time. This is another known issue that hopefully will be fixed.
4) Sockets in backpacks do not work.
5)Dropping a skill enhancement onto an article of clothing or armor that already has all ofits sockets filled will result in the loss ofone or more of thealready attached enhancements to be lost.
6) Skill enhancement tapes and plates can not be removed from armor or clothing onceattached.
Hope this helps out alittle.

This answered a bunch of questions. Concerning #3 though. It only mentions armor sockets, so does that mean I can put both an artisan experimentation and a droid customization tape in as long as I only put one of each in each piece of clothing?
