Thread: Architect Convention October 3rd and 4th
Architect Convention Oct 3rd and 4th (Kettemoor Server)
Place: Lake Retreat, Naboo (note you can only get here by shuttle)
Time: 8pm est. on Friday, all day Saturday until midnight. Entertainment will be from 8pm est. until midnight both nights.
The Goal:
Network and Connections - Not everyone deals with factory crates, Installations, Housing or Furniture. Most of us focus on one or two aspects of Architecture. Meeting others can help direct business, if one doesn't make Large Installations they could direct them to someone who could and in return they send others to you.
Resources - If you, or someone you know, sales bulk resources, this will be the place to be. Most Architects can't keep up with the supply and demand. Buying bulk is a common practice. Lear who these people are that can help you.
Economy - An opportunity to discuss the future status of the economy and "government (Devs)" personal vendor tax bill and other issues.
Tips and Business Advice - Learn what it takes to become a Master Architect. What are some ways that helped you get to where you are in your skills and financial status. Learn more about furniture placement, resources and the effect on your product. Learn more on where to get quest items for home decor, like the Loudspeaker and the Painting.
Socialize - Come out and have fun, meet people from all over the galaxy. Since it is at the Lake Retreat bring your fishing pole and hot pants!

i think this is a great idea, only the serious architects will put an effort into showing up, and whether or not we are able to make a difference, it should be a fun time

hell i say we all make alts on the kettlemore server and have one big meeting.......have all our alts have something similar in their names so people know we are their for the convention....stick "convention" or "arch from (server)" somewhere in the name

*Another issue to address*
PA Architects - Friends vs. Discount seeking Fiends
I was talking to someone last night and this issue was brought up regarding PA's and the expectations with discounts. I'm currently not in a PA and have no desire, but I'm sure others can help with the pro's and con's of joining PA's as the role of the personal Architect. What to look for when joining and knowing the expectations up front.
Alot of the issues within this forum will be discussed plus helpful tips to succeed. Any Architects from the Kettemoor server please attend and spread the word. I personally have had no problems with this profession, its a business character and you have your losses as well as your success.
I'm a Master on the Valcyn server and i plan to attend. However, I (and others from other galaxies) will have to make alt characters to attend. Therefore I propose this naming canon:
My name on Valcyn is Pash Aylor, so I would make a character named: Pash ArchFromValc
I say "Arch" becaue "Architect" might not be allowed, and "Valc" because Valcyn might also not be allowed. That way we know who is from other servers..like name tags for the convention!

yea i think the convention should be held on one server, not have multiple conventions on other servers....just make an alt

Here's my suggestion. Create a character, name him anything you want and choose a profession you've been thinking about doing (or just delete the character after the Convention). Chose Naboo as your staring planet, then run a couple destroy missions, the shuttle fee shouldn't be more than 500 credits. When you get to Lake Retreat, Naboo, say who you represent (Your main character) and from which Galaxy (Server).
