Thread: Profession IDEA, please add your input
great idea, i am not sure if it's graphically possible though and what problems if any it may cause.

I had a similar idea, as well as, sculptures. I talked about it with some other players at the last fan fest, but did not bring it up in any of the live forums because the issues being discussedwere much more basic.
Making this a reward in some way might make it more likely to happen. For example, a statue or bustintended for public placement would be suitable for someone who achieved very high honor, eg., a huge number of partisan points and a rank of general or admiral, ascending to the top of a force-ranking ladder, etc., Note that none of these are currently in the game. An item capable only of internal placement would not need to be as restricted, and could be given as a veteran reward or purchase bonus (not that I favor purchase bonuses).
To minimize bandwidth usage and hence lag, the capability would have to be reduced. Statues intended for public placement would be server-specific items, so they would have to downloadedduring runtimeand could not be maintained client-side. Many of these in an area could significantly increase lag for toons entering the area, hence the need for heavy restriction on availability. Items intended for private placement would also be server-specific, but if placed inside structures the bandwidth usage would be restricted to house entry. More unique furniture-type items could be allowed than statue-type items. Still, there would be a real nead to minimize these for data-base reasons, so the schematic, or whatever, allowing the creation of a unique item has to be very limited. Note that I'm using city-statues and furniture as examples, because the placement restrictions for the different types match those items most closely. This does not mean that exactly the same placement restrictions need be put in place.
