Thread: any one want to help out a New Architect, by selling me metal and ore for cheap or giving for free?
I think calypsogemeni is right. Begging is inappropriate, but there are ways to get help.
I know I was helped out some on my way to master architect and actually tomorrow I finally will reach my goal.
I was helped by getting xp on walls I sold to other arch's or made for otehr arch's.

I wouldn't want the competition being a beggar like this guy either. Christ, first he bumms all the ore for MA, then sells all the product for what, 1cpu. Get real. Get a life and do for yourself rather than make an asshat of yourself in front of thousands. /ignore Timmmy the fool.
Give me all your ore for free so i can grind to master ! (err would have to drop architect first, but with all the walls im making lately, np master again

In defense of Timmmy, he is probably thinking that this is standard practice. As an Artisan, he probably was sponsored by a Guild or another non-profit organization up the Engineering tree. So naturally when he hit Novice Architect he might expect that the good natured souls that helped him to date are in also existance in this field.
The sad truth is that it is hard to find such a soul here.
Good luck, Timmmy. My only advice to you is work up the chain like the rest of your peers or find a beneficial sponsor that hopefully will not make demands on you in the future. I am not, so do not ask me. The culturally acceptable way to make your living up Architect is to start with your smalls and sell houses, factories, and the raw resources in your vendor or in the bazaar. Upgrade your harvesting fleet to Mediums, then Heavies. Sell off of the prestige of your name, not the "going rate" of your resources. Try to resist selling for less that 3cred/unit, this annoys your peers and cheats yourself of your worth. Architects are actually a pretty rare profession in comparison, you should not be held in the same esteem as the hundreds of Pistoleers, Weaponsmiths,andCreature Handlersout there, and they make more money than you forthe sameeffort. Sell for what you are worth, Timmmy, not what other people say you are. This is your choice but hopefully, you are worth more than 3creds/unit. Charging 5creds/unit is respectable... if you are the only Architect in a location and you can get away with 7creds/unit.... so be it. Others may call you morally deficient, but for Pete's Sake, if you must be a economic harlot, be the Diva, Timmmy, not the cheap hooker on the corner.
