Thread: Any way to salvage a factory stuck on construction marker?

Is there any way to recover the deed by paying maint and then destroying?

I had a critical failure on my first factory, then I have this problem on my second. I lost connection a few seconds after placing it. Now it is stuck. I can use /paymaint, I can use /destroystruct. Are there any other commands I might be able to use to get this back or am I SOL?

It'll usually fix itself during server maintence.

Ok. I will let it set there then. I just didn't want to do something stupid. If it were just a harvester, I would just destroy it

Select the Construction Marker and type "/destroystructure". It *should* reclaim the deed, but it might not. (Didn't for me, but that could be the inventory but that seems to be hitting us alot lately.) This is the response you'll get froma CSR if you ticket it.

Btw, I've seen construction markers still up since day one. So a server reset is not necessarily going to fix it.

I'm just saying that I have personally seen it fix it.

I ran into this problem the day before last, but luckily mine was just a personal harvester. Yesterday I followed the advice I found here on the board which was the /destroystructure command while targeting the stuck construction marker. It worked great, and I still want to thank everyone who posted that information. The construction marker was destroyed and my lot was reclaimed.

However, I forgot to delete the tickets I had created about the problem, and about 15 minutes later a CSR contacted me about my tickets. I explained to him that I had managed to use the /destroystructure command to get rid of the marker and reclaim my lot. He told me that he was very happy it worked for me, but that he strongly recommends against using that method. He said that, "a lot of people have had a lot of bad experiences with it, but the decision to use the command is ultimately up to you."

He did not elaborate on the possible negative outcomes, but I wanted to share that not all CSRs will recommend the /destroystructure command. The CSR did tell me that the devs had implemented a change in yesterday's hotfix to correct this. Since it didn't work for my marker, I let him know that the change did not fix me, but it is possible that the change is intended to make the markers not get stuck in the future. He said he would pass that information on to the dev team.

Oh, well, I tried the /destroystruct, it said I got the deed back, but no deed. I was never able to get back in last night due to ghosting.

I got in this morning, still stuck on construction, so I tried it since I had not heard anything from any CSR. So it goes. I will try logging back in one more time to see if the deed shows up on login, but I do not have much hope of that.

Greetings,

Please do not /destroystructure as that may cause you to lose the factory. This issue is known by development and is being worked on. Once it is fixed it should continue building. If the factory does not finish building please enter a ticket through the Holocron (ctrl + h) and a CSR will be able to assist you with a reimbursement.

CRSPartick, I was given those instructions by CSRDanielX (er, don't remember what X was) when I crashed while placing my Large Harvester. As with Aliana, the message I got also said "deed reclaimed". I have also seen a harvester in construction-market state since about the first week of release, and it's still there. I understand if you're working on the problem, but in the meantime, leaving an artisan in this state with one less lot (as precious as they are for our profession) is not an interim solution.

Aliana, sorry about the bad advice but it came from the CSR. At least you got your lot back though. If you're on Eclipse I can make you one to replace it.

On Monday, I placed a large house south of Kaadara on Chalistra which is still stuck in construction marker mode. I opened a ticket that afternoon, got a response more than 24 hours later saying it was a known issue and being worked on. Added a reply comment that the response did not address my situation as I needed either the house to finish building or a deed back and most importantly my 4 lots back. Got another response more than 24 hours later saying I'd been referred to an in game CSR and should be contacted by the end of the day (Wednesday) and if I hadn't heard anything to open another new ticket. I was not contacted and was online for over six hours that evening. Opened another ticket last night was online for another six hours and have yet to be contacted by an in game CSR.

It's very frustrating to read a reply on the forums by a CSR regarding a similar matter less than 3 hours after the original poster asked for player advice when I've been tied up in red tape for 4 days and counting and have received very poor service thus far!

I actually just got a replacement deed from an in-game CSR for my Heavy harvester. So, keep your tickets open. Hopefully they'll get to you.

I gave up on the CSRs. I sat in the game for hours, nothing. I finally added a note, saying I was there. I sat for hours. No answer. I still have the open ticket. No answer. No mail, no nothing. I probably will not bother to file a ticket in the future. It seems only to lead to a false sense of hope. If I have a problem I will just bug it and move on. No point in wasting time with tickets that I can see.

The best way to deal with these setbacks is by looking at the game as an adversary, just like you have to look at griefers and exploiters as a game feature, an annoyance that gets in the way, as something to be gotten past, not to be worried about too much.

For me, as an architect/artisanwho refuses to grind, the fact that I had to make my factory 3 times just means I have a justified reason to get 81,000 structure xp. That's how I look at it. Find opportunity in disaster.

I just made another factory. I will try to place it later, after I have tried every way I know how to lose connection.Last night I wasgetting dropped at random every 30-45 minutes. I figure I need to stay in game for a full hour before I try anything important. This is not a good situation. But it is what is presented by the game mechanics for me. I can work around it or I can quit. I choose to work around it as best I can.

I just resolved this problem with my large naboo house.

Two weeks ago it got stuck in construction identically as above. I cursed, calmed down, then reported it to a CSR. I got the normal "we appreciate your patience" response that means they have no info and can't help me at all. :luke:

Yesterday I posted on another problem and was given the /destroystructure tip. I did this last night and it worked great. Well, if great means you get your lots back but do NOT get a deed. So I sucked it up and made another large house. Net loss, about 120k credits. Maybe someday in the far distant future a CSR will tip me the cost of repairing that bug.

BTW, the CSR that I talked to did NOT know the above command.
