Thread: BER 14 Heavies ? This is a joke SOE !

So after publish 7 it became 'temporarily' possible to make BER14 Heavies, great eh? No way! this is the biggest screw up so far by SOE.

Itsaddens me immensely. I was not able to get on last night so could not try things out for the 1 day it was possible, but it is not that which makes me angry. Now there are going to be batches of 14BER heavies on the market which will devalue everything we can make for a while after they pull the exp changes. So what have SOE succeeded in doing ? They have created an artificial market for unrepeatably high BER harvesters which everybody will want, those will sell for ridiculous prices until stocks of themrun out, which will take some time as the sensible architects will hoarde these and trickle them out for maximum profits, the price of resources will rocket as architects search for the specific resource required to make100% omus from already prepared schematics for these harvesters once their own stocks run out. The normal max BERs which we will return to tomorrow will probably have to drop in price if they are to compete. This is not 'sour grapes' from me, I do not normally make heavies, I have always concentrated on Mediums and have not heard of BER11 mediums being made (or BER5 units), although it just may be possible, I do not see a major effect on these mediums unless 11s were possible and have been made. But I do feel for anybody else who has not been able to take advantage of the publish in the short space of time it is 'live', especially for those who are just starting out, or early in their career as a crafter.

SOE have managed this very badly, they should have postponed the publish and taken out everything related to Experimentation changes before releasing, I am sure that the same is going to be the case for WS & AS, a flood of temporary 'nerf' items which will make it worse for those who did not or could not achieve these exceptional results.

Now instead of doing anything that improves the economy they have achieved the opposite, they have made it worse than ever. Good Luck to everybody who has succeeded with making schematics for these UBER omus, I don't begrudge you the credits you will make, I just believe that SOE have seriously screwed up again by not thinking through the consequences of their ill-planned release.

SOE - this really sucks you have really screwed up this time, what are you going to do about it ?

Yes its a pretty big fubar.

Sorry to tell you but BER 11 mediums are possible and have been made at least on some servers.

I just made a BER 11 medium mineral schematic.

OK, well that was always likely. I am now seriously considering where my future lies in SWG. I have enough credits to take some time off from architect, I might just shut up shop, pay the maintenance for a few months so that the contents don't 'poof' and go and try something different for a while until the economy has recovered. Maybe it's time to reinvent myself as the 'fighting-fish'. I am really pissed right now, I think architect could take a long time to recover from this, I hope I'm wrong, but I cannot see 'new' architects survivng in this brave new and fatally imbalanced world that has just been created.

A few days away from here and I may feel better about it, but right now I cannot see any good that has come from this.

While I agree with much of what Bandola said, I don't think it will impact the economy as badly as we might think. Many people simply won't have the time to get all the schematics made in the 24 hours before they change things back and other architects may not have the resources at hand either.

I think most of the BER11 mediums and BER14 heavies won't ever come to the market because the architects would keep them for themselves or offer them to close friends and guildies first.

BER 14 heavies, BER 11 Mediums (rumor), rate 45 crafting stations, congratulations SOE, you've totally screwed anyone who didn't have the absolute best resources available for crafting on one specific day.

You dont need to make a single harvester. All you need is schematics.

I know of an Armorsmith that is now capable of make thousands for composite armors with 80% specials & 90% on the rest.

Once you have the schematic, you don't need same stats on material. Same type is enough, the damage is enormous.

A few will have the whole money market

No, you need exactly the same materials, all types of (for example) duralloy steel are not the same. This does mean that when people run out of resources these items will become rare, but with a couple of hundered thousand units of high quality resources you can produce hundereds of items. This really is a right royal screw-up.

I wish I could edit....

The only place you don't need exacly the same resources are in walls, but since they don't effect the overall result of the build it doesn't really matter.

I hope you are right, but I fear you are wrong. A lot depends upon whether you can gather the same resources after the change is pulled, you would be mad to make anything less that a schematic for 1000 omus, even if you don't have the resources all to hand. Equally you would be out of your mind to make schematics for less that 249 heavies (the max you can make because of limitations on the component schematics). Provided you have schematics/stocks of the 'harvesting units' (omus etc), and stocks/schematics of sssm's gt's etc then there your ability to keep churning these out after the change is pulled is limited by how long you can continue to get the specific resources needed. I reckon that in about4-5 hours I could make enough schematics for around 1000 of each type of harvester. That is 4 schematics for each heavy (except gas - too much HQ steel to think about making 1000 of those!) and 1 for each medium, the reality is that for components the limiting factor is probably more likely to be the schematics/production of sssm's and gt's rather than anything else.

Now I've given you a clue on what you will need to build BIG stocks of these harvs, you'd better get to work before time runs out.

Oh, and if you don't log out then you have until the next server reset to make as much as you can !

If you are organized enough you can make these for a few years to come.

Here is the deal, it takes 11 points of exp to get the BER 14s and 12 points of exp to get the BER 11s. If you don't have the skill tapes, you don't make these harvesters. You might might get one of these with a couple amazing successes, but even then an extra exp points goes further than two amazings.

That fact is why this crafting publish is wrong. Either you have top resources AND skill tapes, or you are SOL.
