I was wondering what everyone was charging for medium houses now, or plan to charge, especially after this last patch. Currently, medium houses take roughly 7k more in resources than factories, and the average price onfactories is50k. So my figure would make itout to be roughly 80k.That seems like a lot but it makes sense to me considering the resources needed. Also, the heavy harvester, wondering on the price on those as well. Seems tome those are in the 90k-100k region? Thanks in advance.

I have sold med houses for 60-70k each ...I have also failed one...you have tale alot into account with price its not just recources..

Time it took you to build

Failed parts and structures

Time it takes you to collect from harvesters

Everyone wants there structures right now and not have to wait..If thier time is valued, why shouldnt yours be too?

I sell to friends at a good discount they never once have gone anywhere else, but i get people i try to offr this same pice to i dont know and they act like im nuts...Simply tell people if they dont want to pay your price they should work the skill themselves and then its as cheap as you can get..

At about 2.96 per resource (equivalent to 10K small home pricing) = about 60K

At about 3.40 per resource (equivalentto 12K small home pricing) = about 70K

At about4.00 per resource (equivalent to 14K small home pricing) = about 80K

Now I've been selling small homes at the 2.96 level, but I saw small homes as a way for me to "establish" myself. I think with Medium Homes and other larger projects, I'll have to lean more towards the 70,000 pricing, as we have to account for failures. Just failed on a wall a few minutes ago... ouch. Almost 2500 ore down the drain.

When people ask me in tells or email, I've been telling them somewhere between 70-80K rough estimate. I figure it *could* be sold at 60,000 but I'm trying to set a trend hehe.

Fellow Architects, I am in need of advice on selling my Medium Houses.

When I first started out, I checked the forms for how much to sell small houses on and 20k seemed to be the agreed upon price, so I tried that. Well I didn't sell a single house for a week so I decided to drop to 15k and see what happens. Well ever since I haven't had much trouble selling them unless I was on Corellia. I wasn't sure what to price all my other stuff for, like factories for instance, so I divided it down and took 4.5 credits per resource used on the small house and applied that to everything else. I've had trouble getting the 60k for a factory that it multiplys to, but I've managed to sell some. So now I'm onto Medium houses and my 4.5 price translate to 92k. Well all I am getting is laughs when I tell that price to my customers, because they are all responding with the message that they'll go pick one up from a guy they know for 60k.

So I am asking what is a generally agreed upon price for a medium house nowadays and if I'm crazy to consider 92k for 20600 resouces invested in the medium house.

I if I am crazy, what would be a better price and how do you manage to sell any lower when I hardly believe I'm breaking even at 4.5 credits.

I appreciate your time and any suggestions and tips you offer.

Happy Architecting.

I'm almost positive it doesn't take 4.5 credits/resource to maintain harvesters/generators/etc.

The maximum price I've ever heard for small houses is 15K, and I'll sell a factory for 15K if I'm tired of hawking it.

To answer your question, I've seen 85K for medium houses as the suggested retail price.

I sell mediums for 90K also. Let those people laugh at you. Whenever people think that I'm ripping them off I tell them that a medium house takes 20600 resources to make, and if they look on the bazaar and try to buy all the resources themselves it would cost them at least 80K.

To the guy that said harvesters are not 4.5 creds/unit, you are absolutely right. However, what if I don't want to be a miner and an architect? Can't I just be an architect and buy all my resources off the bazaar or other players and still make a profit? Isn't that fair to ask?

Rath-

While what you ask is fair, the question should be: is it viable? I know other crafters that have chosen to buy from dedicated miners, so it appears it is-but with resources priced the way they are right now, your profit margins will either be much lower than mine, or I'll be able to do more business by selling at lower prices.

I'm not critisizing anyone's prices, because it's a game, and you can charge whatever makes you happy. I was just suggesting he lower his prices a little to be in line with what the norm is and increase his business.

Well I look at it this way, there is a very real chance that they are going to bring back miner. If they do they might gate the bigger harvesters to the miner profession. Now I don't know about you, but I probably won't pick up miner. That means everyone will have to buy a substantial amount of resources to keep up with demand. Therefore prices will rise.

Lastly, about the economic feasibilty of it, I can theoritically sell more items per day than you because I have the whole server mining for me. I may make less profit per sale, but I can still sell more. And to sprinkle some real world facts in here; in real world capitalist economies it is illegal to both mine and manufacturer and distrubite a single widget.

A factory for 15k? 3 times the resources of a small, but the same price. LOL, thats why archs fail. My prices:

Small house.....11k

Medium house....65k

Large House......130k, 10k deposit and a 3+ day wait

Med Mineral.....16k

Med Chem/Flora/Water......30k

I have many orders right now, and I have a 5+ day wait for a medium house because of some large orders I took.

15k for a factory cos you're tired of hawking it hehe. The totaly pointlessness of it is comical Why did you even bother going to the trouble of learning the architect profession if you are just going to sell things at way below what you could get if you just sold the resources.

Thats basically how I work. I am an architect as as I'm an architect when I build something I want to get more money than I would if I just sold the resources on their own. It would be so much easier for me just to plonk 10 harvesters down on one spot, then sell the resources. I could do that and play a combat profession all day and have more fun. So why... for the love of god .... do people sell things for less than they would get if they just sold the resources. I amnot castigating people for hurting my trade or damaging the economy because its all fluid, an economy is meant to withstand anything like this. My point is mainly that I just find it comical and idiotic at the same time. Why on earth do these people go to the trouble of becoming an architect when they would make much more money just selling the resources. The logid really does fail me. Although I have to say its usually the socially inept who just continally spam HOUSE FOR SALE 15k all day reducing their prices every 10 minutes to try and get a sale that have the most problems.

I'm on wanderhome and the economy there is still in its infancy. The resource price is still around 3-4c (not talking about the bazaar) I've traded in alot of resources all over the galaxy and I'd say its pretty stable currently at 3-4c. But not many people have medium harvs and few have heavy harvs, I expect the resource cost to come down as more and more people get on the harvester bandwagon. With the prices the way they are I try and fix my prices at about 5c a resource. That allows me a little profit and also makes sure if I do fail some big stuff I ain't losing money. I sell alot of items, I have a day or so backlog for big items like med houses etc but can usually produce most things the same day. This does require me to supplement the resources I can gather myself though from my harvesters.

I get abuse now and then from people who laugh and tell me they saw a large house for 65k on another server. I couldn't really care less what they saw. Most of the people who give you abuse and ROFL when you tell them the price haven't really got a clue what goes into making a house, they've just seen a price shouted out once and decided for themself that that is the proper price for something. These are the same people who are quick happy to pay 30 or 40c a resource for some rubbish armour but go completely crazy when an architect suggests 4c or 5c.

My philosophy is simple. I set my prices at a level where I earn more than I would if I sold the resources seperately. Its not hard to work out thats a pretty reasonable way to do business as an architect. If you don't do it that way, why bother being an architect.

I don't even sell houses anymore. I tell them if they want a house go buy the resources and I'll make them one for free. Then I take all the resource I harvest and sell them on the bazaar or to a vendor.
