i know that architects are mostly 1 line crafters (max out efficiency)but i had hoped that you would join us anyhow. thank you for your time

The Only thing is .. this new exp method is to new to really judge.. And .. I have heard reports that it varies a tad bit on each schematic.. (so items with 4 bars to exp on will have different results than an item with 1 bar.. )..

I have gotten approval on a test and resource request that I submitted and will be doing a VERY thorough testing through out several items.. (both ARCH and Non ARCH..) Though I am a little nervous of this new system I am going to keep an open mind Until I have the facts.. ( I am hearing WS on test that are claiming to be surpassing all of their old best weapons.. )

I am Hoping that It will not take much longer to get the resources I requested and I will Post my results ASAP.. Promise

Yeah .. This may very well be a nerf.. But .. The truth of the matter is that the majority of the people that are yelling about it now.. Have not played with the new system.. They read it .. listen to a few people and make their conclusions..

All I am saying is that I will keep an open mind till I have the facts..

Also .. I have played with TH online only a little bit.. And I know he dabbled in Architect.. But Honestly .. If he doesnt have the time to answer our Top Ten Questions in the immediate future do you think he has the time to fully understand the new Crafting system?... (and I in no way mean that in a way that Knocks TH either)..

I have heard Positive report and Negative.. I have a test lined up that will beyond a shadow of a doubt clear all questions for me and I will report those findings here for everyone else to make an educated decision about it..

I'm with Dvnce... and I'll wait for his report before I form an opinion. I've also read conflicting reports, and, since I don't play on Text Center and cannot form an educated opinion for myself, I will reserve opinion until I get a hard numbers from a good, thorough test from a trusted source.

Everything else is just kneejerk resistance to change.

it really bothers me that he calls this a correspondent issue too, we just asked for the bugs to be fixed and they nerf the system, its something to be worried about for the future, sets a precident

Only problem I see with the new system is that all the master crafters I hear about seem to be doing more with less....better weapons, better meds...ect, ect.

Keeping in mind that we only experiment onfew product(harvesters, crafting stations) the thing that sets most master architects apart is the fact that few(at least on chilastra) provide consistant vendors with a consistant product..i.e. BER 13 Heavy/BER 10 Meds. These things are not easy to make popple...and the resource cost is high. Now imagine if every master arch dabbler could make BER 13 with metals that have 800 HR, SR and UT...or 700 for that matter....you will start seeing archs really undercuting what the product is worth....just to move all thier old stock...

I think thats kind of a contradiction in terms. If you're a master then you're not a dabbler.

I don't know for sure if the changes are good or bad for architects. I don't know for sure if they are good or bad for other professions.

I'm pretty sure we weren't asking for this change.

It isn't a great sign to see the community relations manager defend changes by saying we asked for them and then basically encouraging folks to hoard pre-nerf items cause it is what he would do. And all the while he doesn't know the exact details of the changes made to crafting experimentation.

I agree totally. That is exactly what he is saying. It's a nerf and its not to our advantage when it comes. I am already dropping tailoring due to the vendor nerf. This is just one more thing that will make crafting not a viable source of income for me.

Why break things when you could go and make better and stronger things? There is not one good reason for this nerf as far as the players are concerned. Unless its to make the CH's feel a lil better after all the crap that was done to them (provided there are CH's left in the game that aren't holo grinders.)

I love telling people that are returning to the game about all the improvements that have come into the game. Yet here we are coming up on the 1 year anniversary and we see Dev's making the players weaker. Yeah, the new content rocks but these nerfs suck big time! For pete's sake, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Especially with our coders!

Well here's a copy paste from TH:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=weaponsmith&message.id=35955&page=3

Things change in MMOs and they change all the time. There is a big push to balance all of this stuff and these instances are going to occur. Will these weapons be around forever? No, not forever. It takes a while for things to cycle out as they do in any big "system". And thats what this is; its a big, virtual, social system. Things change and time passes and it works like a bell curve. First, people wont know about it and a few at the front end will benefit while people at the back end of the curve don't know about whats changing. Then the word will spread and the "wave" will flow past and catch on and everyone will talk about it. While thats going on, the clever crafters will take the time to make all those"old weapons"and sell them as time passes. Then most of the "old" weapons will be gone and all players will be on the same playing field, though it will be a longer timeline. This change has to happen though - - its good for crafting and good for the game. its the transition thats tough. Change is always tough and there is a lot of change going on right now.

Sure there is going to be some pain, but don't miss out. You are getting this information now. You folks are involved in the community and you are getting the information. The smart crafters who are involved in this are seeing the winds of change coming and they're out there making product....and you should too. Don't see this as your doom, soo this as your opportunity. You are involved and now you get a chance to take advantage; be those smart crafters and make it happen for yourself.

I don't know about you all but I read that as saying:

Yep we're nerfing it all. Suck it up ya wussies. Stock up on pre-nerf stuff now if you're smart.

I would asume that this would effect architects the least. nearly everyone has BER13's now and personally im not bothered about how long i can make a candle or light last with experimenting. Architects cant surpass all previous best results cuz BER13 is our max, with any luck they have fixed fusions on test, which will bring alot of new business with people wanting BER20+ fusion power generators. All of our other stuff looks at experimentation and throws it out of the window.

As for other professions like weaponsmith, well now only the best weaponsmiths will make the best weaponsand the average weaponsmith will make average ones. It takes a good eye and mind to look out for those good resources, and i believe the better weaponsmiths that keep their eye closely on resource spawns will profit from this. The only people that need to worry are ones that make general weapons, which at the moment are nearly a good as the best weapons due to the current poor experimentation system.
