I took some screenshots on the Test Center to illustrate the changes that we'll see when Patch 10 goes live.
Check it out here:

I'd appreciate any feedback in this thread.

Very cool.
Wish I had enough time to grind skills to play on TC and check these things out.

Nicely Done. Your attention to detail is impressive. You must have a bit of experience creating documents

Brilliant summary ZenDragon !
I must say I am looking forward to trying this out, I feel that this is one of the definite improvements in the interface, although apart from the visual assistance it doesn't actually give us anything that we haven't been able to figure out ourselves through experience and careful selection of the resources we want to use. It would have been a step forward if (for example) those areas where experimentation gave us nothing meaningful were treated differently. (I am assuming that when it comes to the 'standard' components, such as Gen Turbines, it still tells us if the materials we are using are HQ, but that is irrelevant, so could be misleading to inexperienced crafters)

There is a Character Builder on Test Center. It allows you to master professions in less than 5 minutes...so...you can...also it provides you with a crap load of resources money, everything you would need to test crafting with...

I've worked with them quite a bit and I'm pretty spiffed with them
I just wish we could overhaul the UI to remove some of the steps in crafting. But that's just me.

It's a nice interface update, but won't do much for me as an Architect.
I don't make crafting stations anymore, because the high-end stations don't appear to work any better than low-end stations. I've been making harvesters so long, I can just look atresource stats and figure out if they are good enough for maximum harvesters. And I don't even bother to experiment on lamps and candles, because customers just don't care.
But this will be nice for Armorsmiths, Weaponsmitsh, BEs, and other profs.

I have to correct this before people get confused.
There is *the* Test Center (TC) which is *exactly* like a live server which has the next rev of the software on it. It is a persistant server (just like live), has an economy, and you *must* advance your character exactly like live.
Then, for *specific tests*, they bring up a "Test Center 2 (TC2)" with both the new code and the "god mode terminals". Right now they are testing the Patch 10 FS quests there. TC2 is *not* persistant, gets totally wiped frequently (all characters deleted), and is not always up.
So TC2 is for intense accelerated testing of a very specific set of new features. People who aren't testing those features and are interfearing with the tests can be booted and banned from the test centers. They already had to turn off all PvP on TC2 because people were flocking there just to create their "uber" templates and duel / PvP.
You can have 3 characters on the Test Center. I have a Master Architect, Master Ranger/Pistoleer, and a Doc/TKM. They are all leveling just like live, and participating in the economy just like live.
