Thread: Factory Solution

I am tested and verified that Structural and Equiptment Factorys can operate properly.

The solution was buried in the 'Power Core' issue.

***The resources MUST BE in the order the schematic requires them, not the alphabetical list.***

I have a second Architect verify my results.

The sorting algorithm is not working for the input hopper, check the code.

I can vouch for this. Was able to make mining units using this method.. Seemed to work ..

Thanks

Bulk helped me with this AFTER I waisted enough resources to make 25 gen turbines heheh.. good luck to all.

so are you saying that you get as many power cores as you are suposed to with this method?

Correct, I did a test run of 15 power cores, I received 15 power cores.

Both myself and an architect friend tried this work around, but it did not work. At least not with the new bug that's plagueing factories. It may, however, work with power cores... IF they can fix this other bug and let us use our factories again.

Are you certain that you put the resources into the input hopper in the *exact* order the *schematic* call for them? I made three runs tonight, one with power cores, one ore mining units and one with generators.

For an example:

-Ore mining unit-

Bore Head

--100 Steel ( Used Cilo Steel )

Bore Positioning Arm

--150 Steel ( Used Cilo Steel )

Ore Transport Auger and Conveyors

--150 Steel ( Used Cilo Steel )

Load-bearing Joints and Fittings

--120 Steel ( Used Cilo Steel )

Charge and Thermal Regulation Medium

--75 Inert Gas ( Used Quadneoclimishis Gas )

End result was per unit of production

-520 Cilo Steel

-75 Quadneoclimishis Gas

I placed them in that exact order, and presto, works like a champ.

Absolutly positive. I had it up on my screen while I was putting items into the hopper.

And I was only making an Electronics GP Module. Nothing as large as a power core.

This "fix" might work for Power Cores... but that would be it. My Factory doesn't work at all... well... at least not for Generator Turbines.

Ok, I understand putting the resources in the order in which they appear on the schematic. But how did you load the components for the power core in the order needed. I have to put the artisan components in one at a time due to the fact my factory is to dumb to pull them out of the crate. So if I wanted a run of 15 power cores do I alternate energy disturbutor/power conditioner till I have them all loaded? Or put in 15 of each in the order needed? Sorry if this has been answered be for, but I have searched this forum for weeks and this is the first possible fix I have even seen.

Does this work for wall modules too? I have wasted about 30 structure modules and raw materials trying to get my factory to make walls after the patch. I tried in the crates and out of the crates. I even made a new schematic. Nothing worked. I am afraid to burn more materials testing if this solution works, especially since Its hard to put the items in the right order when there is a long list of subcomponents.

Man I cannot wait till Beta 4 is over.

Ok, here's the thing, almost all factories are stopping at 100 items since the big patch. Mine wasn't effected until yesterday but friends have been doing this since Wednesday.

After 100 items you have to either 1) redeed the the thing or 2) wait for the overnight server reset. After this the factory will function for another 100 items.

This is a totally different workaround for a totally seperate bug from the power cores.

I can vouch for that. Just reached a 100 unit production of structural modules, and it stopped working. Guess I have to redeed the sucker.

Cheers,
