Ok, just a thought on this. I don't think this will be on the DEVS hit-list for a while as it will cause a flood of high end large structures on the market. Personally I'd put 50 Heavies a day on my vendor if I could have this issue fixed instead of the ten a day I shoot for now. I'm not saying I don't want this fixed, so don't flame me on this please.

I can confirm that you can indeed use factory crates in the hoppers now. I just did so to make some power cores, so I imagine it also works for walls. And remember, just because it isn't in the patch notes doesn't mean that it still isn't fixed. The patch notes also dont say that they increased the architect experimentation up to +100.

You hav ebeen able to use factory crates in hoppers for a month now.. it is structure module factory crates that hold a particular bug preventing them being used in factories to make walls.

Nothing in the notes... I pray they are fixed...

As a bump and confirmation, you *can* now make walls in a factory without pulling the bricks out of their crates. This almost makes me want to keep architect (as making walls was my biggest frustration) but am moving onto greener professions.

Good luck to the rest of you and enjoy the extra time you will have while making walls!

Do the walls get made *in* crates or do they come out separately?

(The first time I did a run of 50 ore mining units, I nearly had to place a house because the factory produced them uncrated! I'd rather not repeat that bit of pain.)

did you need to use identical structure mods to get them to pull? or were you able to use a mix and they still pulled from crates?

Wall schematics allow you to use any old structure modules. Crated or otherwise.

Not the question,

The question is can you use wall schematics in a factory to make factory crates of walls using mixed structural modules, crates of different structural modules.

For a factory to make something the items have to be identical to those used in the schematic. So the structure modules have to be made in a factory also. You could make ten different types of modules using different ingredients, make a run of these ten different types of modules, then make a wall schematic using one of each module. But why bother? Just makea bunch of the same structure modules (they crate at 100 each) then use these for the walls. Assuming the walls pull the modules now like has been reported.
