Thread: Droid Crafting Station vs Crafting Station

I'm curious myself and I make droid crafting stations

I know I've been turning out 98% experimental efficiency ones, but other than that, I have no Idea if there's a comparative rating.

I don't even know if the high experimentation I've been getting is carrying through to the final completion of the droid. Experimentation currently means practically nothing for DE's.

what? I thought YOU knew how to get the caramilk into the caramilk bar.....

Sorry if this question has been asked before or it is a newbe questions.

I have heard some people say that the best rating on a crafting station is in a droid is that true?

I know you can get a Crafting statio up to 42.+ But what is the actual rating on a droid with the a crafting station and what is better to use?

There is no indication of the quality of crafting stations that are put into droids (in fact, the droid won't even show that it's there at all).

This would reinforce the evidence that crafting station quality does nothing whatsoever.

When I started making high quality crafting stations, I also had a droid crafting station. At the time, experimental failures would be much higher on the regular crafting stations I was making. I experimented with both the droid station and an in town station and got very few failures compared to my high quality private crafting station.

A month or so ago, the patch notes said the devs had made a change to the way droid crafting stations worked. Since then, if I try to use my droid station, I fail experiments far more often than with my regular (up to 43.4) crafting stations.

This is, of course, highly apocraphyl and subjective, and I could have simply been seeing random fluctuations in the probabilities but it has seemed pretty consistent. Suffice it to say I am now getting a top of the line droid with the hghest quality stations in it that I can.

I remember reading that droid stations are on par with public stations and that private stations are better overall. It's a vague statement, but I've noticed fewer critical failures with my private stations in out city hall than with the droid stations I make, even though I use the best possible materials in crafting them. (all pertinent stats above 900)

So far, all I can find is rumor. I have been all over these boards & can't find anything concrete, but I'm working as well and I keep getting sidetracked. I have seen in several places where if the owner of a building doesn't log every 3 weeks...POOF. I have heard both that this is just for declared city residences, and lots, but I have NOT repeat NOT found any anouncement or patch note. If someone can find some detailed info, I would appreciate a link.

Thanks!

This is where I 1st heard this. There is a note about this on the TC boards as well, on comments on the upcaming patch. Still nothing concrete.

I get the "feeling" that my Droid stations are better that my private stations. So much so that I sold all my private stations and use my R3 exclusively. I do a lot of business with Ackis and I trust his statement that the stations are some of the best. I rarely crit any more and seem to get better exp results, but that may be due to Nabubu City having Research Specialization. I know that there is some dispute whether Research is actually beneficial, but I prefer to craft in my city, why chance it? Another selling point on the Droid Stations is that you can pull it out anywhere. Running through Theed with my Master tag on always gets me instant business and I can often complete the order right in front of the customer. In summary: 1 vote for Droid stations being better.

I have done no scientific studies or anything...but based on my personal experience in Arch, droid stations are MUCH MUCH better than even the best of the best stationary stations.

It seems that with a +42 Arch station I was getting tons of crit fails on experimentation and and on final combines (this was before we could just press the assemble button over and over again). With a droid, there is more risk, but more reward. I found out that I had less crit fails on combines with my droid. And, I had a dramatic increase in Amazing Success on experimentation. At the same time, there were more chances for failures in experimentation with droids. But, all in all, I think the trade off is well worth it. I flat out refuse to use my +42 stationary personal station to do any Arch work anymore. It's all done with my droid.

I find that Arch is the only one this really works for though. My +40.8 Weapon, Droid, and General Item stationary personal station did a lot better than my WD&GI droid on experimentation. This is based on my fair amount of experience as a Master Weaponsmith for some months.

With the incoming possible nerf to cross-server lot swaps, I would like a definitive answer on this. Anything to reduce space/need may soon be a desperate need.

I used to experiment using my droid alot but recently I've noticed increased failure during experiments compared to my +42 station at home.

Player Cities
  • Player city clone facilities are no longer considered for "respawn closest". Only static NPC clone facilities are now considered "respawn closest". Players can still clone at a civic clone facility if they have stored their clone information there.
  • There is now an option on the city management terminal that allows you to revoke your citizenship at any time.
  • Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 3 weeks.
  • Players will now get a popup when they are city warned, incase they miss the message behind other windows.
  • Fixed an issue with mayors getting 100 points of xp less than they should have on city updates.
  • You can no longer deploy a camp in a player city.

  • what this means is that if you have not logged on for three weeks you lose residency of the player city you live in... nothing happens to your house or admin list.. only that you will no longer be a voting resident of the city.

btw, i also saw on the political board posted by the corespondent that the city warn part of the above notes was a mistake... because there is no city warn heh... it went to test centre by mistake and will be removed by the time it hits the live servers.
