Thread: Architect: Prices on Items
There are many many factors that go into what YOU want to charge for things.
Cost to you of obtaining resources, factory maintenance as a base line.
Do you need cash urgently to fund those harvesters etc ? Sell cheap to get it then.
Don't need the cash so urgently, value your time and sell for more.
How do you want to operate ? Just stock a vendor and refuse custom orders ? Then you have to sell at a competative price for your server, maybe you can get away with more if your vendor is always stocked and others aren't.
Want custom orders, then become great at customer service.... but remember it takes longer, more time, more organisation to run a successful business this way, so make sure it is worth your while.
Only a couple of examples of what you can do, there are many other business models out there, look around and choose the best for you and your time / bank balance.
well the first reply guy was one of them who ruined the maket ![]()
he charges 5k for a small house which costs 3.3k resources, which leaves him a resource price on finished product included fails of under 2cpu LOL i find never pure resources sold for that price, wth no risk, no work.
i price all from 4 to 10cr per unit resources used, depends on the item. harvesters even more.
still i will never hit the cpu of weaponsmiths, armorsmithes, Docsor smugglers ![]()
think about it
Furnitures are NOT worth more than 2k, with the resources it uses. Exceptions of the ones using wooly hide ofcourse.
Most architects tend to over charge, im not trying to sell my things for less and killing the market, honorstly! But it ischallenging for a new architect to know what to sell his goods for. ThereforeI tend to look at the 3cpu for the resources, the amount of time put into it and add alittle profit on top of that. I think my prices are fair. With your prices you definately need a master architects reputation and trained in.
"Overcharge III: Advanced Credit Hogger"
this is what I personaly charge for the deeds
house
small house 18k, generic 22k
medium house 110k, generic medium 128k
large 198k, generic same price
guld hall / pa hall 400k flatt
harvesters
small - 2.9k
medium - 83k
Heavy - Deep Crust Chemical Extractor - 170k
Heavy - Heavy Miniral Mining Installation - 190k
Heavy - Heavy Natural Gass Processor - 160k
Heavy - High Capacity Flora Farm - 170k
Heavy - High Efficiency Moisture Vaporator - 75k
factorys i sell for 78k no mater what type
wind - 10k
solar - 35k
fusion 174k
vehicle - 69k (have to be master artisan to craft this though)
I do NOT take personal orders but refer ppl to my vendor that i keep stockt almost all the time... PA halls / guild halls i don't stock couse of the amount of resources it takes, same with player city buildings (only thing i take custom order on and halv of the price is up front before i even think about crafting it)
when it comes to furniture... just make sure you charge AT LEAST 3.5 creds pr u....hell if they can pay 30k for a weapon thats going to be useless in a week they can sure as hell pay for what we craft
40k factorys
9k small house
65k medium "" (67k Genric)
125k Large "" (130k Genric)
guild halls 250k (270k generic)
I don't stock many houses on my vendor but when I do they generally sell in 1-2 days
Factory's sell pretty well especially food and equipment ones
City structures I make to order as it's 2 much to vendor stock these items.
Harvesters for me usually
3k personals
30k minerals and moistures
50k all other mediums
135k all large harvs
135k for fusions..
I make decent money for my outlay (rougly 6 mill a week), but I'm a solo architect funding myself.
I like what I price as I think they are fair prices for the server I'm on.. not to say I'd like to sell medium minerals for 60k
If you sell cheaply then eventually you'll see that it will be harder to churn things out and still pay for resources .. and unless you run tons of harvesters you will never mine all you use on a weekly basis .. imo anyways
I love it when people try to tell me what the market will pay.
If you believe that everything has a fixed price you are sadly mistaken.
Why do you think people advertise (RL or in the game)?
It has been my experience (and ive played an architect since the game came out) that good merchant skills (real skills notgame ones) can allow you to charge alot more than some here would have you believe, and still get plenty of sales.
I NEVER charge less than 10cpu for furniture, and some of it I charge alot more. I make all of it in factories these days, as it was too much work trying to keep up inventory by hand.
I consider houses to be my least profitable item... I sell for 16K, 90K and 180K.
Heavy harvesters i sell at around 180K for BER13... down to 120K for BER11 (dont get many of these crit fails)
I sold 100% fishing rods for 25K each for a few weeks... sold crates full of them... amazing what a little marketing can do
Of course then some less busines savy types started selling them for 1-2K when they could have made good money... oh well.
I guess it all boils down to how much of a chore you realy want it to be. If you want to spend all of your play time struggling to get resources etc and still only make marginal money then you can. If you want to have time available for other things and make alot more money you can... you just have to put some effort into marketing etc.
/sigh
Here we go again.
You might as well sit down with a manager for a Kmart in Kansas anda manager for a Nordstroms in Huntington beach and ask "what do you charge for stuff"?
Pawlin, youare so right ![]()
Basically, any price can sell.... its a matter of location, selection, marketing etc.
Also a trade off... do you want to sell volume or margin.
There is no right answer.
