Idon't get it. I tried to talk them out of it. They actually wanted to pay, so I figured, "why argue?"

I mean it's all about the money and they got a little snotty, so I guess taking 50K for a small house was a good thing. It just felt wrong. Well, maybe not wrong, just a little like taking advantage. Then I think, "When do architects get to take advantage?"

Not too often, I suppose. So here's to you, silly non-imp 50k small house buyer. I paid another month on my PA hall.

when do architects get taking advantage of?

every time you have a critical failure on a pa hall, large house, or heavy harvestor.

And soon, when you CF on a city component.

Its like a great magic trick, watch as i make 250k worth of resources and time disappear.

you asked the question (albeit rehtorical) 'when do architects get taken advantage of?'

and we do get taken advantage of. Customers try to lowball us on prices but want the finest quality and the devs rob us of large amounts of time, money and resources with pointless critical failures.

Actually I said "When do architects get to take advantage" not "when do architects get taken advantage of". Sorry for the confusion.

i understood him the first time

grats on selling a small house for 50k, im pretty sure he just wanted a house 'now' and had more money than he really cared for there is a lot of people like that among the combat proffessions (i very often get people saying 'is that all?' when i give them prices on architect items, a reason im raising them all slightly when i place my new shop)

I had a similar sale this weekend, the customer insisted on paying 700K for a 350k order if I filled it right away. I was able to ( by canibalizing some of my own equipment ) and closed the deal.

Cracked me up, but hey if they want to shove money at me, they are welcome too.

Yes. It is disturbing what we sometimes sell stuff for - I've seen some people post that they sell small houses for 3K - oh the humanity! I have come to give a general thumbrule of 10K for each wall andthe rest is subjective, depending on difficulty, items, resources, factory involvement.

ahh, my misreading then.

I usually try to base my prices on a 3 credit per unit then round up for easier math. So walls are like 10k, generators 5k, ore and fludic units 5k, etc etc.

Makes it easier to throw price together.

I had the exact same sell last night. I felt pretty bad actually (of course after I made the deal). I asked him why in the world would he pay 50K for a small and he never answered me. And he was dressed like a newbie, so i figured if he just didn't know better I would have been more then happy to refund 40K or so to him. But he never answer me.

So, to ya'll blow'n your money like that, PLEASE feel free to come visit me any time you wish and I will be more then happy to fill any order you want at those prices. Now thesoon to be wifecan't hound me on maintenance for the house (giggle) ....

A local quick stop market near my house ( in real life ) has a closed sign that reads.

Sorry we are closed, please slip your money under the door.

If you're trying to assemble a 'Deed for: ...' item and you crit fail, I think you should lose the direct resources, but get the sub-assemblies back.
