Vyper51, you just had a string of very very bad luck. I was an architect in beta and I have recently become one here and never have had a critical failure on a final combine yet. The worst I had was on a wall module. You just had unfortunate luck, that's all. It's happened to me in other places before... I'm just dreading it will happen to me in architecting...

Personally I think critical failures should make you lose only raw materials and let you keep any components. That would still make them punishing but not devastatingly so.

On big combines i will make aditinal structure peice things(can always use them) till i crit then do the final combine, i almost never cit twice in a row...

It sucks, but it's the way the profession is meant to be. I hated critical failures in DAoC on a weapon combine too. Especially after you broke 600 skill. It started getting expensive.

You guys should have started as a Mon Cal Best Architects in game .. they start with a +10 structure crafting skill, much fewer crit failures then all the rest.

I dont care about low ballers they cant make enough to sell to everyone that wants it .. i sell small houses at 15k, medium at 40, i dont sell harvestors or factories there just isn't enough demand to warrant getting the skill yet.

I only took Installations I so I could make a structure factory for myself(I will need it later anyway). I made a factory for my doctor partner and now I am working on one for myself. Making houses can be carpel tunnel hell.

Well, it's not as bad a critting on a factory, but it's close. While I was trying to create a medium mineral installation for a wonderful customer named Deckard, I critical failed on the final combine. Then I made all the parts again. And critcal failed again.

This is ridiculous. As a small crafter I CANNOT sustain losses like this. The crit rate is WAY TOO HIGH. There should be no critting on anything above a certain resource amount. It's just retarded and way too painful. I think the architects have it the worst with our huge resource consuming crits. The devs really need to change this, this kills the casual player even more. Someone saves up a weeks worth of minerals to make a factory and boom, it's gone in one fell swoop. That's enough to quit the game over for someone small.

weel it makes sense that harder items would be harder to make..I failed a factory lastnight and i wince ever time i hit the final construct on anything large..Its the way the game works and I geuss if you dont like it chose another skill tree..Or maybe we should all have a button that makes everything for free and we wont mine or build or run the countryside and we can just fill our banks and packs with deeds to look at..that sounds like a fun game..

Dude, that was not constructive at all. Do me a favor and don't troll.

The point is it's set too high. Everyone is failing something massive. And this kills the casual gamer in any profession. It just kills architects and then smashes them with a big boot.

I dont think that the highest xp skill to novice and master is the best for a casual gamer..I have been killing myself i this skill and still im not real far up..The point i was trying to make is it is suppose to be tough..Not trying to be a jerk but if i didnt have that "this thing could blow up" hanging over my head it wouldnt be as fun..Try playing some other games where top end items are like a 20-25% chance to make..maybey you should take up cooking?

Ya, and what's your point? Do you not read these boards? Almost every architect on here agrees that five credits per resource is fair and I'm pricing just under that. What's your problem?
